Job description

We are searching for a Chaplain -- someone who works well in a fast-paced setting. In this position, you will provide pastoral care, spiritual counseling and guidance to patients, families and staff of the hospital. 

Qualifications:
    Graduate of a fully accredited theological seminary with a Master of Divinity degree or canonically acceptable equivalent which could be verified with Board Certified Chaplain Eligibility
    4 Clinical Pastoral Education (CPE) courses verified by the hospital or accredited educational institution  
    Board Certified Chaplain from the APC, NACC, NAJC, or CASC preferred
    Individual ordained by her/his faith group preferred
    Board certified within two years required

Responsibilities:
    Develops and implements ministry objectives, policies and procedures consistent with hospital philosophy
    May actively support the Spiritual Care Volunteer programs through mentoring and continuing education programs
    Evaluates patient/family needs for spiritual guidance and counseling. Initiates or recommends programs to meet those needs
    Administers the sacraments and perform religious rites, e.g. baptism, or arranges for appropriate religious leader to do so
    Maintains availability for consultation to hospital staff and other individuals on matters pertaining to hospital ministry
    Creates and promotes healing & wholeness programs including Critical Incident Response Team activities and supports the specialized ministry of healthcare chaplaincy in every setting
    Collaborates with Volunteer Services Asst. Director in planning and teaching Spiritual Care Volunteer classes
