Details
The Lake Tahoe Community College (LTCC) is recruiting for part-time Fitness Education Center (FEC) Program Aide. The FEC Program Aide supports students utilize the Fitness Education Center by maintaining a clean gym space and assisting with proper use of equipment. This position plays a vital role in providing check-in assistance, being a resource, and guiding students in correct use of the gym.

Description
  • Ensure guests are checked into the facility and provided with information, as needed, regarding the use of the equipment.
  • Maintain a safe gym space, through the application of Fitness Education Center (FEC) rules and proper use of the equipment.
  • Maintain safety as it regards to the Fitness Education Center e.g. proper lifting techniques, proper forms associated with using the equipment in the FEC, general safety as it pertains to a fitness environment.
  • Keep the space clean and well maintained, reporting maintenance needs as they arise.
  • Answer guest questions regarding FEC course offerings at LTCC.
  • Must be able to work independently.
  • Able to navigate complex tasks, including, but not limited to, ensuring students check in, monitoring equipment for proper function, ensuring that all spaces are clean and well maintained, ensuring participant safety while using the FEC.

Education and Experience
  • Communication Skills: Strong verbal and written communication skills are essential for interacting with students, staff, and university representatives.
  • Organizational and Critical Thinking Skills: Ability to prioritize tasks, manage multiple projects, and organize events.
  • Customer Service: Demonstrating a sensitivity to and understanding of the diverse backgrounds and needs of community college students.
  • Relevant Experience: Minimum one year experience working in a fitness facility or in a related health and wellness field preferred.
  • Educational Background: Certifications and/or an Associate in exercise science, personal training, personal fitness preferred.
