Position Summary:
Principal Consultant will be responsible for ensuring successful production support (post go-live) and ongoing optimization for Workday Financials, focusing heavily on the Financial Data Model (FDM) and Record to Report (R2R) processes. Consultants in this role should be comfortable troubleshooting complex financial transactions, managing ledger structures, navigating Workday security, and building advanced custom reports and calculated fields. This role will actively contribute to the growth and development of ERPA's Workday Financials AMS practice, showcasing innovation and strategic thinking to solidify ERPA as a premier Workday partner of choice.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Act as a lead Financials consultant on multiple client engagements with limited direction
  • Understand client financial business requirements and provide strategic guidance throughout design, configure and prototype, testing, and move to Production efforts
  • Support clients through complex financial annual events, fiscal year-end close, and periodic reporting cycles as needed
  • Partner with Engagement Managers to keep them informed of project status, scope changes, and financial milestone tracking
  • Collaborate with cross-functional counterparts across technical and functional domains to ensure clear lines of communication and project alignment
  • Accurately maintain project forecasts and time allocations in a timely manner
  • Assist Sales team with orals, system demos, and Level of Effort (LOE) estimates for Workday Financials opportunities
  • Stay up to date on industry accounting standards, Workday Financials biannual enhancements, and best practices to advise clients effectively
  • Provide exceptional customer service to build lasting, trusted relationships with finance and accounting leadership

Experience and Education Requirements:
  • Minimum of 5 years of hands-on configuration experience within Workday Financials, with a primary focus on Financial Accounting (FDM - Financial Data Model) or Record to Report (R2R)
  • Proven track record of supporting or leading post-production, AMS, or implementation projects for Workday Financials clients
  • Deep expertise in Workday FDM design, journal entries, ledger setup, business processes, and financial reporting
  • Strong understanding of Workday Financials security framework, custom reports, and calculated fields
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent professional experience)
  • Active Workday Financials certification preferred
  • Excellent communication, client-facing, and problem-solving skills with the ability to manage multiple client engagements simultaneously
