Position Overview:

We are seeking a dynamic, passionate, and versatile Family and Consumer Sciences (FCS) Teacher to join our high school staff for the upcoming school year. The ideal candidate will prepare students for post-secondary success by teaching essential life skills, career readiness, and wellness.

Our FCS curriculum spans multiple modern CTE (Career and Technical Education) pathways, which may include Culinary Arts & Nutrition, Human Development & Family Studies, and Personal Finance.

Qualifications and Requirements: 

  • Bachelor's degree or higher from an accredited college or university in Family and Consumer Sciences or Career and Technical Education;
  • Valid State Teaching Certificate/License with an endorsement in Family and Consumer Sciences (Grades 712 or K12). Candidates eligible for a state-approved alternative or CTE industry-route teaching credential will be considered, provided they obtain full licensure within the state's designated timeline;
  • Prior high school teaching experience or student teaching in an FCS/CTE environment is highly preferred. Industry experience in culinary, hospitality, or childcare is a plus;
  • ServSafe Manager or ServSafe Proctor certification, AAFCS Professional Certification, and First Aid/CPR/AED certification preferred;
  • Science of Reading Pathway Credential;
  • Acceptable report on required BCI/FBI background investigation and drug screening;
  • Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Superintendent and/or Board of Education may find appropriate.
