JOB SUMMARY
Serves as a consultant to executives, managers, and office personnel regarding the recruitment and coordination of professional staff, Special Agent, collegiate hire, and honors intern applicants. Establishes and maintains a network of both internal and external contacts and relationships in order to oversee the recruitment and/or applicant coordination programs for the office and obtain recruiting leads.
KEY REQUIREMENTS
  • Must be a U.S. citizen
  • Must have (or be able to obtain) a valid driver's license
  • Must be able to obtain a Top Secret-SCI clearance
  • Some travel may be required
PHYSICAL DEMANDS (if applicable)
The work is primarily sedentary, although some slight physical effort may be required.
WORK ENVIRONMENT (if applicable)
The work area is adequately lighted, heated, and ventilated. The work environment involves everyday risks or discomforts that require normal safety precautions. Occasional travel is required.
MAJOR DUTIES:
  • Attends and promotes the FBI at recruitment activities such as university career fairs and/or recruiting conferences and conducts professional presentations at applicant information sessions.
  • Provides advice and guidance to applicants regarding the application process, qualification requirements, testing, background investigations, etc.
  • Identifies, analyzes, and provides recommendations to resolve issues that may affect the FBI's goals and objectives to recruit the best qualified applicants.
  • Forecasts hiring goals and prepares the office's recruitment plan.
  • Establishes and maintains a network of internal and external contacts to administer the recruitment/applicant coordination programs and obtains recruitment leads.

Specialized Experience (SE)
GS-11: Applicant must possess at least one (1) year of SE equivalent to the GS- grade level. SE is defined as follows:
  • Researched conferences and recruitment events and determined the best events to attend.
  • Provided advice and guidance to candidates concerning interest in career opportunities.
  • Researched, organized, attended, presented, and interviewed at various recruitment events.
  • Compiled and prepared reports pertaining to the recruitment plan and forecasting hiring goals.
Desired Skills
Desired skills are NOT mandatory and will NOT be utilized to minimally qualify applicants. Desired Skills are:
  • Military Recruiter experience or 5+ years of recruiting experience.
Education
All degrees must be from an accredited college or university. Education may be substituted for specialized experience as follows:
GS-11: Applicant must have a Ph.D. OR equivalent doctoral degree OR 3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree OR LL.M., if related.
Education completed in foreign colleges or universities may be used to meet the above requirements provided you can show foreign education is comparable to that received in an accredited educational institution in the United States.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
  • The FBI is in the Executive Branch of the federal government. It is one of the components of the Department of Justice (DOJ). The FBI is the principle investigative arm of the DOJ. All FBI positions are in the excepted service.
  • Applicants must be U.S. citizens and consent to a complete background investigation, urinalysis, and polygraph. You must be suitable for Federal employment; as determined by a background investigation.
  • Positions with fitness for duty requirements or those that require international travel may require proof of certain vaccinations.
  • Management may select any grade for which this position has been announced.

  • Required Leadership Training: All FBI supervisors promoted after January 2022 are required to attend and complete the Training Division's Supervisor Essentials Program within 365 days from initial assignment into a supervisory position. Supervisors will need to complete both the "Mentoring and Coaching" and "Performance Appraisals" courses as part of the Supervisor Essentials program. The Supervisor Essentials course is a pre-requisite for the new Leading People (Virtual) and face-to-face version (VLP) that will be offered beginning the 2nd Quarter of 2022 (if applicable)
  • If you are selected, you will be required to serve a two-year probationary period. Probationary employees are precluded from being considered for all job opportunities until 12-months of their 24-month probationary period has concluded. Probationary Employees may be considered for competitive vacancies that are advertised within their respective division or field office after serving 90 days within the FBI.
  • The probationary periods will be served concurrently. (if applicable)
