Job Title

Join the Records Unit and take on a vital role in managing police records and information.

The job requires customer service to the public at the front counter and by phone, answering a wide and interesting variety of questions. In addition, it supports Juneau Police Department operations through document processing, releasing reports, and FBI Uniform Crime Reporting.

This position works regular business hours and does not typically require shift work.

We are looking for a friendly, patient, and observant person who can balance customer service, data maintenance, and record processing. It is important to have the interpersonal skills to communicate effectively with a diverse range of customers. The ideal candidate maintains the strictest confidence while handling sensitive documents and information.

The Records Unit provides essential support to operational units of the police department and staffs the public-facing front window of the police department Monday through Friday between 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM excluding observed holidays.

Records Technicians work within the Records Unit on the first floor of the police department on Alaway Avenue in the Lemon Creek area, conveniently located between downtown and the valley. There is plenty of free parking in our secure parking lot just steps away from the building.
