Residential Supportive Housing Direct Support Professional (DSP)


Location: Farmington, CT (Newly Opening Location)
Employment Type: Full-Time or Part-Time
Schedule: Various schedules available -2nd & 3rd shift, weekends and holidays
Reports To: Program Director and/or Program Manager
Department: Residential & Community Supports

You will implement fun, creative, and personalized activities, helping participants reach their personal best at home, at work, and in the community. Your role includes providing guidance in daily living and supporting community engagement.

Key Responsibilities:

Daily Housing Support & Community Engagement:

  • Implement individualized, engaging activities tailored to each participant
  • Support participants in reaching their personal goals and maximizing independence
  • Provide guidance and encouragement in home and community settings
  • Foster community inclusion and involvement
  • Support individuals in their daily routines such as cooking, cleaning, laundry, transportation, recreation and personal hygiene

Relationship Building & Enrichment:

  • Utilize your own talents, skills, hobbies, and interests—such as art, music, cooking, sports, or other personal passions—to enrich the lives of participants

Minimum Requirements:

  • Must be at least 21 years old
  • High School Diploma/GED
  • One year of experience in Human Services (preferred)
  • Active, clean, non-restricted Connecticut Driver’s License (minimum 3 years U.S. possession)
  • Clean driving history
  • Reliable transportation
  • Ability to safely lift at least 75 lbs.
  • Ability to stand, walk, and sit for periods at a time.

Physical & Work Environment Requirements:

  • Work occurs in home and community settings
  • Requires physical activity including lifting, standing, and walking
