## Factory Acceptance Test (FAT) Technician IApplylocations: Houston, TX (TAS-Cullen HQ)time type: Full timeposted on: Posted Yesterdayjob requisition id: JR107412**POSITION OVERVIEW:**The role of the **Factory Acceptance Test (FAT) Technician I** is to perform shop inspections and testing of TAS equipment prior to shipment This includes visual and detailed inspections of mechanical and electrical/controls systems, troubleshooting and minor repairs per established project documents and checklists. The position requires close interface with the Operations Department, Project Engineers and Project Managers, and with other FAT Technicians.**KEY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:*** Ownership of project financial performance from project set-up through close-out* Serve as the primary financial point of contact providing proactive oversight into project performance, risks and opportunities* Perform advanced POC revenue recognition, cost-to-complete analysis, and forecast accuracy* Audit job cost control, margin analysis and risk identification to ensure continuous and accurate reporting of jobs in progress* Maintain compliance with internal controls, accounting policies and audit requirements* Cross-functional collaboration with project management, operations, engineering, and service* Provide coaching and mentoring to project accounting staff for process improvement and best practices* Lead and support continuous improvement of project accounting processes and reporting* Advise management on non-standard contractual or financial issues that may create business or financial risk* Support month-end, quarter-end and year-end close activities related to project accounting including reconciliations, journal entries and variance explanations* Review and maintain contract modifications, change orders and customer-proposed financial terms to ensure compliance with approved financial guidelines and delegation of authority* Support proposal reviews and strategic bids by analyzing pricing structures, financial terms and risk exposure to help minimize margin leakage* Ad hoc financial reporting and analyses* Any other task and responsibility assigned by TAS**JOB SKILLS:*** Strong working knowledge of accounting practices and procedures* Strong understanding of project accounting, POC revenue recognition and cost controls* Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously* Strong ERP working knowledge* Strong MS Office, Excel, Word* Effective communication, interpersonal, analysis and critical thinking skills, combined with a quality results orientation**EDUCATION & TRAINING:*** Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business or related field* Master’s degree preferred**MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:*** Minimum of fifteen (15) years of related experience* Demonstrated self-confidence and a customer mindset* Strong process skills and discipline* Demonstrated prioritization skills and ability to manage multiple priorities within demanding time constraints* Highly effective communications and influencing skills* Demonstrated leadership skills and ability to succeed in a matrix, team environment**PREFERRED REQUIREMENTS:*** Prior experience in project-based, manufacturing, construction, or engineered-to-order environments* Previous experience leading or mentoring accounting or controls staff strongly preferred* International experience# PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS/WORK ENVIRONMENT:Position is at least 80% to 95% at a desk working with computer. Ability to exert up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects, including the human body. Performs other physical activities including use of fingers, sitting, stooping, bending, crouching, talking, hearing, and performing repetitive motions. Visual acuity requirements include color, depth perception and field of vision necessary to prepare and analyze data and figures, operate a computer terminal, and conduct extensive reading.
