Program Director - Surgical Technology Description

South College seeks candidates for a full-time Program Director position in Surgical Technology at our campus in Orlando, FL. Successful candidates will have a minimum of a bachelor's degree in a related field, a surgical technology certification, and preference will be given to candidates who have teaching experience.


The position will report directly to the Academic Dean.


Responsibilities

  • Teach a minimum of sixteen (16) college-level courses per year covering core courses. Content will include procedures and clinical care, pharmaceutical drugs education, position and prep, sterilization, and labs.
  • Facilitate discussions effectively, provide live and recorded lectures as necessary, and guide students through hands-on skills.
  • Manage adjunct faculty within the Surgical Technology Department.
  • Course review, scheduling, faculty management, and other management activities.
  • Required to participate in department activities, including committee meetings, curriculum discussion, student solutions management, and other service activities.

Requirements

Education

  • Applicants must have a bachelor's degree and surgical technology certification.

Experience

  • Preference will be given to applicants with prior successful teaching experience and those with management experience.
