Job Summary:

We are looking for a highly skilled mechanical engineer to lead the development of mechanical products, taking full responsibility for all phases of the project-including design, analysis, documentation, factory integration, and on-site installation. The ideal candidate will possess strong technical competence in structural analysis and machine design, along with demonstrated leadership potential.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Full project ownership: Oversee design, analysis, documentation, factory integration, and on-site installation of mechanical products.
  • Technical strengths: Structural analysis, machine design, and selection of precision drive components (bearings, gearboxes, encoders, servomotors).
  • Manufacturing focus: Optimize designs for cost-effective fabrication and integration of positioning systems.
  • Analytical expertise: Proficient in strength of materials, static/dynamic/thermal analysis, and weldment design with safety considerations.
  • Certifications: Experience with product safety standards (e.g., CE) is a plus.
  • Soft skills: Strong problem-solving, communication, and leadership abilities; comfortable presenting and engaging with customers.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's in mechanical engineering (Required).
  • 3-5 years of applicable experience
  • Solid foundation in mechanical engineering fundamentals
  • Proficiency in 3D CAD for complex mechanical systems (SolidWorks preferred)
  • Ability to generate detailed drawings using ANSI Y14.5 GD&T standards
  • Weldment design and documentation per AWS D1.1, D1.2, or equivalent standards
  • Experience with finite element analysis (FEA), including stress, safety margin, buckling, and modal analysis
  • Design of machine elements (bearings, fasteners, gearboxes, motors, gears, etc.)
  • Understanding of closed-loop servo system optimization
  • Knowledge of classical statics and strength of materials
  • Familiarity with precision machining and welding practices
  • Proven track record in complex product and system development
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools
  • Due to the nature of NSI-MI Technologies' programs and products, applicants must have the legal right to work in the U.S. and additionally must be legally authorized to access export-controlled information and source code.
  • Requires approximately 30% domestic and international travel.

Desired Qualifications:

  • Master's in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent
  • Product and complex system development experience.
  • Machine design, hands on machine assembly and onsite machine installation experience
