Job description

Amazon Leo is Amazon's low Earth orbit satellite network. Our mission is to deliver fast, reliable internet connectivity to customers beyond the reach of existing networks. From individual households to schools, hospitals, businesses, and government agencies, Amazon Leo will serve people and organizations operating in locations without reliable connectivity.
Development Lab Operations (DLO) is seeking a Support Systems Engineer to own the design, development, and integration of DLO's critical digital infrastructure platforms

This role is responsible for building and maintaining the systems that enable DLO's Infrastructure Managers to execute projects, track spare parts, manage knowledge, and report on key performance indicators. The ideal candidate blends software development skills with program management discipline to deliver seamless, unified platform experiences across DLO's operational ecosystem. This role requires hands-on technical execution alongside program management.

You will write code, build platforms, and ship features while simultaneously managing timelines, stakeholders, and cross-functional dependencies. You'll operate with significant autonomy to make architectural decisions and define the digital roadmap for DLO's operational infrastructure.
Export Control Requirement: Due to applicable export control laws and regulations, candidates must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S

permanent resident (i.e., current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum.
Key job responsibilities
Design, build, and maintain the Development Lab Operations Wiki, serving as the single source of truth for DLO processes, standards, and documentation
Develop and enforce content architecture, page templates, and governance standards to ensure the Wiki remains current, navigable, and scalable
Enable self-service knowledge access for DLO stakeholders across multiple R&D facilities
Support the development of the software and back-end infrastructure for DLO's critical spare parts management system
Support the development of the software and back-end infrastructure for DLO's computerized maintenance management system (CMMS)
Build inventory tracking, alerting, and reporting functionality to ensure parts availability and reduce equipment downtime
Integrate spare parts data with the CMMS for automated work order generation and replenishment workflows
Build and maintain the DLO Infrastructure Managers Project Platform, enabling real-time project updates, milestone tracking, and resource visibility
Develop dashboards and status reporting mechanisms that provide leadership with clear line-of-sight into project health
Create standardized project templates, workflows, and intake processes within the platform
Architect and deliver seamless integration across DLO's four core platforms: CMMS, Wiki, Spare Parts System, and Project Platform
Develop API's, data pipelines, and UX/UI platforms to ensure data flows reliably between systems without manual intervention
Eliminate redundant data entry and ensure a unified user experience across all DLO digital tools
Design and build KPI dashboards that provide real-time operational metrics for DLO leadership
About the team
Amazon Leo is developing a low Earth orbit satellite constellation to deliver fast, affordable broadband to unserved and underserved communities around the world. The Development Lab Operations organization ensures our R&D engineering teams have reliable, compliant, and well-maintained lab environments to design, build, and test next-generation satellite technologies.
