2nd shift Lab Tech II - Analytical Services


Job Title: Analytical Services Lab Technician II


Department: Analytical Services Lab


Reports to: Quality Mgr


Job Function: Perform chemical analysis on raw materials, in-process materials, finished soap bars or specialty chemicals using instrumentation and/or wet chemical methods. Perform routine and non-routine analysis under the supervision of the Analytical Services Team leader.


Duties and Responsibilities:

1. Analyze materials using standard wet chemical techniques that include, but not

limited to, titrations (colorimetric/potentiometric end points), gravimetric methods,

specific gravity, and water content by Karl Fisher or Xylol method.

2. Produce and maintain analysis records, laboratory reports and C of A's

3. Provide analytical data to production and make basic recommendations on batch

corrections when required.

4. Maintain sample retains of raw materials and finished goods.

5. Practice good laboratory practices (GLP) in all laboratory operations.

6. Comply with the Chemical Hygiene Plan and Environmental policies when handling

and disposing of chemicals.

7. Perform additional duties as requested by those authorized to request such activities.

8. Assure that all Lab areas are kept well stocked, clean and orderly.

Assist in developing new product stability studies, testing plans and result archival.

Minimum Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

1. The Technician I will have a High School Diploma (or GED) or higher degree in a

science with 0-1 years of laboratory experience.

2. The technician should have a basic knowledge of software for word processing &

spreadsheets and be able to learn the use of company-specific software.

3. The technician should be proficient in English (both written and oral form).

4. The technician should have basic math skills

5. The technician should be willing to learn basic laboratory techniques.

6. The technician should be able to communicate well with colleagues and be able to

work well with other members of the Analytical Services lab team

Working Conditions and Physical Demands:

1. Ability to lift up to 40 pounds.

2. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
