Role Description This is a full-time, on-site Fashion Designer role located in New York, NY. The Fashion Designer will develop original concepts, sketch designs, and create technical drawings for apparel and/or accessories aligned with brand identity and market needs. Day-to-day tasks include researching trends, colors, fabrics, and silhouettes; collaborating with product development and production teams; and preparing design boards and presentations. The role involves working closely with pattern makers and sample rooms, reviewing prototypes and samples, and making fit, fabric, and construction adjustments. The Fashion Designer will also participate in line planning, assist in meeting collection timelines, and ensure designs are both aesthetically strong and commercially viable.

Qualifications

  • Strong skills in trend research, concept development, and fashion illustration, with the ability to translate ideas into clear design proposals.
  • Proficiency in design tools such as Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, and other relevant CAD software for technical flats and presentation boards.
  • Solid understanding of garment construction, fabrics, trims, color theory, and fit, including collaboration with pattern makers and sample rooms.
  • Experience working within a brand or collection framework, including line building, merchandising considerations, and adherence to deadlines.
  • Excellent communication, collaboration, and organizational skills, with the ability to work on-site in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
  • Bachelorโ€™s degree in Fashion Design or a related field, or equivalent professional experience in fashion design.
  • Prior experience in the fashion industry (e.g., internships or junior design roles) and a strong portfolio showcasing relevant work.
