Description
The purpose of this classification is to assist the store manager in directing and managing all store operation aspects for assigned store by providing supervision, guidance, and training to store personnel in an effort to meet established sales, bad debt and profit goals. The person in the position will ensure all work functions for assigned store are performed personally or by delegation to appropriate personnel.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
The following duties are normal for this position. The omission of specific statements of the duties does not exclude them from the classification if the work is similar, related, or a logical assignment for this classification. Other duties may be required and assigned.
  • Supervises, directs, and evaluates assigned staff, processing employee concerns and problems, directing work, counseling, disciplining, and completing employee performance appraisals.
  • Oversees and directs the daily activities for all areas of assigned store to include accounts receivable, collections, sales, warehouse, delivery, general office, etc.; plans and prepares employee work schedules; approves vacation and leave time; ensures proper allocation of personnel and other resources.
  • Directs, supervises, and oversees employees engaged in, or personally performs, sales work, taking of inventories, reconciling cash with sales receipts, keeping appropriate operating records, warehouse/delivery duties, and/or preparing daily record of transactions, etc.
  • Monitors the duties and responsibilities of all store departments ensuring job performance accuracy and efficiency.
  • Develops expertise in customer experience and sales execution to effectively train sales consultants and sales support staff in meeting customer needs.
  • Ensures new and current employees are trained in effective retail selling, merchandising, and customer relations techniques using both the Farmers Academy and on-the-job training.
  • Meets/exceeds sales to budget & profitability goals, delinquency and bad debt goals, manages P&L, oversees sales activity training, management, and reporting.
  • Communicates and enforces all Company policies and procedures to store personnel; plans and implements personnel safety and store protection procedures and follows all applicable Local, State and Federal regulations.
  • Ensures compliance of employees with established security, sales, and record-keeping procedures and practices.
  • Confers with department heads to ensure coordination of warehouse activities with related operations, such as production, sales, records control, and purchasing.
  • Ensures that the store is opened and closed as scheduled each day; ensures smooth operation of retail facility; sets security systems.
  • Ensures compliance on pricing and tagging procedures on merchandise according to Company requirements for profitability of store operations.
  • Ensure merchandise displays are set to CAD; executes Ordering and Delivery Procedures to standard, manages inventory levels below maximum and aged > 12 months to below 20% of total inventory dollars.
  • Coordinates sales promotion activities and prepares or directs workers in preparing merchandise displays and advertising POP.
  • Ensures customer complaints are resolved and recorded in Product Quality Assurance program.
  • Serve as a representative of the store and the company by engaging in community involvement initiatives that enhance the store's visibility, foster positive relationships, and build goodwill within the community.
  • Maintains vehicle delivery reports, maintenance files, etc.
  • Ensures new and current employees are trained in effective retail selling, merchandising, and customer relations techniques using both the Farmers Academy and on-the-job training.
  • Reviews resumes/applications for potential store personnel, interviews candidates, works with Human Resources to obtain standard pre-employment background information on all potential candidates, and hires qualified personnel in order to meet the needs of the Store.
  • Conducts staff meetings, attends meetings, conferences, seminars, workshops, and training sessions as appropriate.
  • Maintains a work environment free of legally prohibited discriminatory practices and sexual harassment.
  • Completes, prepares, reviews, and/or approves a variety of forms, logs, requests, records, reports, correspondence, and other documents associated with daily responsibilities of this position; oversees maintenance of accurate files and administrative records.
  • Operates a calculator, copy machines, telephone, computer or other equipment as necessary to complete essential functions.
