Farm Ranch roles often involve early mornings and long days, especially during planting, harvest, or calving seasons, and may require weekend or holiday work depending on livestock and crop needs. The work is primarily outdoors in varying weather conditions, so candidates should be comfortable with physically demanding tasks and changing environments. What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive in a farm ranch position?

To thrive in a Farm Ranch role, you need hands-on experience with agricultural practices, animal husbandry, and general maintenance, often acquired through on-the-job training or agricultural coursework. Familiarity with tractors, irrigation systems, livestock management software, and sometimes a commercial driver's license (CDL) are commonly required. Strong work ethic, adaptability, problem-solving, and effective teamwork are valuable soft skills in this position. These abilities are crucial for managing day-to-day operations efficiently and ensuring farm productivity and safety.

What is a farm ranch?

Location: Highlands Ranch 80129 – In-Office Position

Hours: Monday - Friday, 8:30 AM - 5:30 PM

Compensation / Benefits: Base Salary + Commission, Health/Dental/Vision stipend, 401(k) + match, flexible work schedule.

Are you ready for a career that goes beyond just selling insurance?

At Sean Morton State Farm, we’re looking for a driven, dynamic, and passionate individual to join our high-performing team as an Insurance Sales Representative. This role is designed for someone who wants to grow fast, be coached closely, and build a long-term career, not just collect a paycheck.

For the right person, this is a launchpad role with a clear path to leadership and potential agency ownership within 2–3 years.

Why Join Us?

  • Work That Matters: Your work directly impacts thousands of lives by helping individuals and families protect what matters most.
  • Continuous Learning & Growth: We invest heavily in training, systems, and mentorship so you’re better at the end of each year than when you started.
  • Competitive Compensation: We pay for performance and reward people who produce, grow, and take ownership.
  • Shape Your Career Path: As you prove yourself, you’ll have the opportunity to expand your responsibilities and design a role that aligns with your strengths.
  • Advancement Opportunities: Top performers are developed for leadership roles and future agency ownership.

What You’ll Do

  • Drive Sales & Build Relationships: Outbound calling to prospects and current clients, this is a phone-heavy role and that’s where the opportunity is.
  • Manage Client Communications: You’ll handle emails, client inquiries, underwriting coordination, and follow-ups to ensure top-tier service.
  • Plan & Execute Community Events: Support marketing and community outreach initiatives.
  • Enhance Social Media Presence: Assist with content and engagement to grow brand awareness.
  • Optimize Business Processes: Work directly with the agent to improve sales systems, customer experience, and internal workflows.

Who You Are

We value diverse backgrounds and experiences, but these qualities are non-negotiable:

  • Proactive & Solutions-Oriented: You take initiative, ask the right questions, and own your tasks.
  • Exceptional Communicator: Strong writing, speaking, and relationship-building skills are a must.
  • Highly Organized & Detail-Oriented: You can juggle multiple priorities while staying efficient and focused.
  • Tech-Savvy & Data-Driven: Comfort with technology and an ability to analyze key business metrics.
  • Passionate About Helping Others: You bring positive energy and a genuine desire to make a difference.

Requirements

  • Experience with Microsoft Office (this will be tested in the interview process)
  • Colorado Property, Casualty, Life, and Health Insurance Licenses, or willingness to obtain them (we reimburse licensing costs)
  • Bilingual or previous State Farm experience is a plus!

About Your Future Team

You’ll work closely with Sean Morton, an industry leader with one of the highest-performing State Farm agencies nationwide. Our success is built on hard work, continuous learning, and a commitment to excellence. We believe in 1% daily improvements, building strong systems, and doing work that lasts.

  • If you bring your A-game, you’ll thrive in our team culture. Ready to take the next step? Apply today and let’s build something great together!

How You'll Get Paid

We offer a competitive base salary, determined by prior sales and industry experience, plus a performance-based commission and bonus structure.

  • Year 1 Target Earnings: $60,000–$65,000
  • Year 2 Target Earnings: $65,000–$75,000
  • Year 3+ Target Earnings: $75,000+ with continued growth potential

In addition, we provide:

  • Health, dental, and vision stipend
  • 401(k) with employer match
  • Flexible work schedule once fully trained

This role is ideal for someone who wants to learn the insurance business the right way, work alongside a hands-on mentor, and build the foundation for long-term career and income growth, including the opportunity to pursue agency ownership.

This position is with a State Farm independent contractor agent, not with State Farm Insurance Companies.
