Job Description

Purpose of the Job

This role is responsible for conducting field inspections and preparing accurate, high-quality property damage estimates within an assigned territory. The position focuses on on-site inspections, documentation, and estimation only and does not include full claim ownership or adjustment responsibilities.

Ideal candidates bring strong property estimating expertise, with preference for experience in farm, ranch, and rural property losses.


Essential Functions

  • Conducts on-site property inspections to assess damage following a loss.

  • Identifies cause and scope of damage and documents findings thoroughly.

  • Prepares accurate repair or replacement estimates, including diagrams, photos, and supporting documentation.

  • Evaluates construction components, materials, and repair methods with a strong attention to detail.

  • Identifies investigative needs related to damage assessment and escalates findings as appropriate.

  • Recognizes potential fraud indicators and reports observations to claims leadership.

  • Assesses salvage or subrogation potential and documents relevant information.

  • Completes basic risk observations for underwriting and claims awareness.

  • Communicates inspection findings and estimates clearly to policyholders and internal claims partners.

  • Maintains professional on-site interactions with insureds, agents, and contractors as needed.

  • Ensures inspection reports and estimates are completed timely and accurately.


Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent.

  • 5+ years of experience in property claims, property inspection, construction, or related field.

  • Demonstrated experience producing detailed and accurate estimates.

  • Valid state license or ability to obtain one, as required.


Preferred Experience

  • Property claims experience, ideally including Farm, Ranch, or Rural Property.

  • Strong field estimating background (residential and outbuildings preferred).

  • Familiarity with agricultural structures, barns, outbuildings, fencing, and related assets.

  • Experience working independently in assigned territories.

Special Position Requirements

  • Regular physical activity, including climbing ladders, lifting up to 80 pounds, and working in awkward positions.

  • Ability to make independent decisions in accordance with company guidelines.

  • Full-time remote role with significant field work.

  • Frequent travel within assigned territory required.

Salary range is $70,000 - $105000
