Job description

We are hiring Maintenance Mechanics for the new True West Beef processing facility in Jerome, Idaho.  This role is a member of the True West Beef Maintenance Team, which is essential in keeping the production facility running smoothly so we can produce as much exceptional beef as possible.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Construct, maintain and test mechanical equipment, machinery and components, which may include the following: electrical, pneumatics, hydraulics, plumbing, welding, and conveyor maintenance
  • Repair and sustain the operating conditions of the machinery and equipment to ensure machinery maintains continuous production
  • Respond to requests by production area when mechanical issues with equipment have been identified; communicate with production management and team members to diagnose problems and to determine potential mechanical problems
  • Set up, adjust, and break down production line machinery and complete daily documentation that is required
  • Interpret drawings of equipment to properly adjust, maintain and/or repair machinery
  • Conduct regular visual inspections of production equipment; identify parts or machines needing new or replacement parts
  • Perform preventive maintenance; run tests to ensure that equipment is operating properly
  • Identify operational inefficiencies and makes recommendations for improvement
  • Complete all maintenance functions in a timely manner in accordance with established procedures, policies, and safety regulations
  • Keep management informed of area activities and of any significant equipment problems
  • Ensure that work area is clean, secure, and well maintained
  • Stay informed of maintenance requirements
  • Complete special projects as needed
  • Maintain a positive attendance record by demonstrating consistent and punctual attendance on a regular basis
  • Perform other related duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Must be able to communicate effectively to all employees and management to resolve mechanical failures
  • Must be able to read manuals in order to repair equipment safely
  • Must have basic computer skills
  • Must be available to work all shifts, including days, nights, weekends, and be available for overtime

EXPERIENCE & EDUCATION:

  • Minimum of one (1) year of industrial maintenance experience preferred
