About the Role
Fleet Farm is seeking a creative, strategic, and data-driven Social Media Manager to shape the voice of one of the Midwest's most recognized retail brands.
As our Social Media Manager, you'll lead Fleet Farm's social media strategy-from content planning and creative direction to publishing, community engagement, influencer partnerships, and performance analysis. You'll collaborate with our Creative, Production, Merchandising, Marketing, and Media teams to develop engaging campaigns that build brand awareness, strengthen customer relationships, and drive business results.
This is an individual contributor role with significant strategic ownership and cross-functional influence. If you're passionate about storytelling, emerging social trends, and using analytics to improve performance, we'd love to hear from you.
What You'll Do
Social Media Strategy
  • Develop and execute Fleet Farm's social media strategy in support of marketing campaigns, seasonal promotions, and business objectives.
  • Build and manage the social media content calendar across multiple platforms.
  • Identify opportunities to leverage product launches, promotions, seasonal events, lifestyle content, and emerging trends.
  • Recommend new content strategies, publishing cadence, and platform opportunities that grow engagement and brand awareness.

Content Planning & Creative Direction
  • Write creative briefs that define campaign objectives, messaging, audiences, and success metrics.
  • Partner with Creative and Video Production teams to develop compelling social content.
  • Review and approve content to ensure alignment with brand standards and campaign objectives.
  • Manage projects from concept through publication to ensure timely execution.

Social Media Management
  • Schedule, publish, and optimize content across Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, X, LinkedIn, and emerging platforms using Hootsuite, Meta Business Suite, and platform-native tools.
  • Optimize posting cadence using audience insights and performance data.
  • Manage Fleet Farm's LinkedIn presence by highlighting company culture, hiring initiatives, community involvement, and corporate news.

Community Engagement
  • Monitor conversations, comments, reviews, and direct messages across all social platforms.
  • Respond to customers in a timely, professional, and authentic manner.
  • Escalate customer concerns when appropriate and leverage social listening to strengthen customer relationships and brand reputation.

Influencer & Creator Partnerships
  • Partner with agency teams to identify, recruit, and manage creators and influencers aligned with the Fleet Farm brand.
  • Coordinate influencer campaigns and user-generated content initiatives.
  • Evaluate campaign performance and recommend future partnership opportunities.

Paid Social Collaboration
  • Collaborate with Paid Media teams and agency partners to align organic and paid social strategies.
  • Provide recommendations for paid social creative and messaging.
  • Support boosted posts and paid social activations through Meta Business Suite and Hootsuite.

Analytics & Performance
  • Monitor key performance metrics, including engagement, reach, impressions, follower growth, website traffic, video performance, and conversions.
  • Analyze campaign results and provide recommendations to improve future performance.
  • Conduct competitive benchmarking and leverage social listening to identify trends and customer insights.

Cross-Functional Collaboration
  • Partner with Marketing, Merchandising, Creative, Production, Media, Human Resources, and external partners to execute integrated marketing campaigns.
  • Ensure consistent messaging across all customer touchpoints.
  • Serve as an internal resource for social media best practices and emerging platform opportunities.

What You'll Bring
Required Qualifications
  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, Digital Media, Journalism, Public Relations, Advertising, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and professional experience.
  • 2-4 years of experience managing social media for a consumer-facing brand, retailer, lifestyle brand, or marketing agency.
  • Experience with social media management platforms such as Hootsuite, Sprout Social, Sprinklr, Buffer, or similar tools.
  • Experience using Meta Business Suite and social advertising platforms.
  • Strong understanding of social media trends, platform algorithms, content strategy, and audience engagement.
  • Experience developing content calendars and writing creative briefs.
  • Excellent communication, organization, project management, and analytical skills.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in retail, outdoor, sporting goods, farm & ranch, lifestyle, or consumer brands.
  • Experience with influencer marketing or creator partnerships.
