Tractor Operator / Heavy Equipment Operator – Solar Farm Operations
 
Pay: $20.00 - $25.00/hour
Job Type: Contract-to-Hire 
Location: Travel throughout North Carolina & South Carolina
 
Job Summary
We are seeking a reliable Tractor Operator / Heavy Equipment Operator to support solar farm maintenance projects across North Carolina and South Carolina. In this role, you will operate a tractor equipped with specialized machinery used to clean solar panels and help maintain solar energy facilities. This position requires frequent travel between job sites and a strong commitment to safety and equipment care.
 
Responsibilities
  • Operate tractors with specialized cleaning attachments to clean solar panels. 
  • Safely transport and operate equipment at various solar farm locations. 
  • Perform pre- and post-operation equipment inspections. 
  • Follow all company and site-specific safety procedures. 
  • Report equipment issues or maintenance needs promptly. 
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area. 
  • Assist with other general site maintenance tasks as needed. 
  • Travel regularly to projects throughout North Carolina and South Carolina. 
 
Qualifications
  • Previous experience operating tractors, heavy equipment, or agricultural/construction machinery. 
  • Comfortable working outdoors in varying weather conditions. 
  • Ability to travel extensively throughout NC and SC. 
  • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record preferred. 
  • Strong attention to safety and ability to follow instructions. 
  • Dependable attendance and strong work ethic. 
  • Mechanical aptitude is a plus. 
 
Physical Requirements
  • Ability to sit and operate equipment for extended periods. 
  • Ability to work outdoors in heat, cold, rain, and other weather conditions. 
  • Ability to climb on and off equipment safely. 
  • Occasionally lift up to 50 lbs. 
 
Schedule
  • Full-time 
  • Hours may vary depending on project location and weather. 
  • Overtime may be available. 
 
Compensation & Benefits
  • $20.00 - $25.00/hour, based on experience.
