Job description

The Farmhand plays an essential role in supporting the daily operations of a small family-owned farm by managing crop production, caring for livestock, and operating advanced equipment. Reporting to the Farm Manager, this role involves working with precision agriculture technology and semi trucks to maintain smooth and productive farming activities year-round, including hauling livestock and grain to end users.

Responsibilities

  • Manage planting, tending, and harvesting of crops
  • Provide daily care and monitor livestock health and productivity
  • Operate precision agriculture equipment and semi trucks safely and efficiently
  • Perform maintenance and repairs on farm equipment
  • Conduct timely harvesting and post-harvest handling
  • Keep accurate records of farm activities, crop yields, and livestock status
  • Manage time effectively to meet seasonal and operational demands
  • Transport livestock and grain to end users as needed
