Job description

Job Title: House Manager
Location: Los Angeles, CA, 90034
Employment Type: Part-time (5-10 hours/week)
Schedule: Tuesdays and 1 additional weekday required, flexible hours
Compensation: $32-36/hour depending on experience
Start Date: ASAP
Requirements:
  • Ability to maintain a smoke-free environment
  • Reliable transportation (mileage reimbursement for work-related errands)
About Our Family:
We are a dynamic, busy couple who deeply value our time together and being active. With demanding careers, our days are long, often leaving early in the morning and not coming home until mid-evening. Despite our active lifestyle, we want to make time for the things that bring us joy - like getting outdoors, playing tennis or pickleball, going for long walks, or enjoying a quiet moment at home.
We've recently settled into a home we love after years of frequent moves, and we're finally feeling settled and ready to enjoy more of our time together. With that, we want our free time to be focused on each other, not on household chores- that's where you come in! With two adorable cats and a home we'd love to keep organized, we need someone who can help us maintain our systems, make home-cooked meals more accessible, and allow us to relax and recharge.
Who You Are / What We're Looking For:
You thrive in a calm, organized environment and understand the importance of efficiency. You take ownership of your tasks and anticipate needs before they arise, handling responsibilities proactively and without requiring constant direction. Whether it's running errands, managing household supplies, or prepping meals for the week, you excel at keeping things running smoothly with minimal oversight and professional, transparent communication. Your presence is steady, warm, and creates a peaceful atmosphere in the home.
Being an animal lover is a must, as our two cats enjoy playtime and attention. You'll ensure they're well cared for and engaged while you're at our home. If you have experience managing household tasks and organizing systems efficiently, we're confident that you'll feel right at home with us.
We're looking for someone excited about a long-term partnership-helping us create a smoothly run, low-maintenance home that lets us focus on enjoying life. If you value integrity, kindness, and self-motivation, we believe you'll be the perfect fit for our family.
Key Responsibilities:
Household Organization & Maintenance
  • Create and/or maintain household organization systems
  • Manage household supply lists
  • Daily resets and prep home for cleaners
  • Light tidying (dishes, surfaces, vacuum high-traffic areas)
  • Prepare and coordinate donation drop-offs
  • Event/holiday/guest prep
  • Packing/unpacking for travel
  • Change batteries, light bulbs, smoke detectors, etc.
Inventory & Errands
  • Restock pantry/fridge/household supplies
  • Manage running household supply lists
  • Manage household orders and subscriptions (Amazon/Costco/Target/Farmer's Market)
  • Returns, dry cleaning, gift shopping
  • Mail and package handling; breakdown boxes for recycling
Meal Support
  • Prepare 1-2 healthy meals/snacks per week, focusing on low-red meat and healthy whole food ingredients
  • Order and pick up meat and produce at the local weekly Tuesday farmer's market
  • Kitchen clean-up and maintenance
Laundry & Linens
  • Wash/fold/organize laundry
  • Linen rotation
  • Maintain tidy and well-stocked laundry areas
Pet Care
  • Play with the two cats
  • Clean cat litter
  • Maintain pet food and supplies
Vendor & Property Oversight
  • Point of contact for cleaners/contractors
