Job description

Maintenance Technician

  • Pedricktown, NJ
  • $34.00 – $36.00 per hour + Shift Differential
  • 2nd Shift (2:00pm – 10:30pm)
  • Overtime Available
  • Food Manufacturing Environment
  • Full Benefits Package (100% Medical, Dental, Vision)

You will be responsible for performing preventative and reactive maintenance on production and packaging equipment within a food manufacturing facility. This role focuses on minimizing downtime, maintaining equipment reliability, and supporting production through safe and efficient maintenance practices.

This includes mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems across processing and packaging equipment, while ensuring compliance with safety, GMP, and operational standards.

Key Duties:

  • Perform preventative and reactive maintenance on production equipment
  • Troubleshoot and repair mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems
  • Diagnose faults, replace components, and test equipment performance
  • Maintain records of repairs, parts usage, and equipment changes
  • Support equipment changeovers, setups, and line adjustments
  • Perform emergency repairs to minimize downtime
  • Read and interpret equipment manuals, schematics, and work orders
  • Maintain tools, equipment, and maintenance shop organization
  • Perform basic facility maintenance including plumbing, electrical, and carpentry tasks
  • Use hand tools, power tools, and diagnostic equipment
  • Ensure compliance with GMP, food safety, and safety regulations
  • Maintain a clean and safe working environment

Qualifications:

  • Proven experience as a Maintenance Technician or Industrial Mechanic (Minimum 2–3 Years)
  • Experience within food manufacturing or high-speed production environments preferred
  • Strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills
  • Ability to read electrical prints and work across multiple voltages
  • Experience with hydraulics and pneumatics
  • Knowledge of GMP and food safety standards
  • Strong problem-solving and communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • High attention to detail and ability to work in fast-paced environments
