Job description

Deseret Cattle & Timber is seeking highly skilled Heavy Equipment Operators to join our local ranch!
Summary:
The Heavy Equipment Operator operates agricultural equipment under supervision to support daily farm or ranch activities, including land preparation, feeding, irrigation, and harvesting, with a focus on safe operation and skill development.
Responsibilities:
  • Operate basic farm equipment (e.g., tractors, loaders, skid steers) to complete assigned tasks.
  • Perform routine equipment checks and basic daily maintenance (fueling, greasing, fluid checks).
  • Assist with planting, harvesting, irrigation setup, fencing, and general land upkeep.
  • Follow safety procedures and supervisor instructions at all times.
  • Keep equipment and work areas clean and report any issues.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements:
  • High school diploma or GED preferred.
  • At least 1 year of farm equipment operation experience.
  • Valid driver's license. Ability to obtain First Aid and CPR certification.
  • Willingness to learn GPS-guided equipment.
  • Basic math and communication skills.
  • Ability to provide required tools for job tasks.

  • Frequent lifting up to ~50 lbs; extended walking and standing; regular use of tools and machinery; frequent bending, stooping, kneeling, climbing; good vision and communication required; sustained physical labor.
