Job description

POSITION SUMMARY: The Farm Assistant will take direction from the Farm Manager and Farm Lead in the farming, landscaping and general property maintenance of the Clif Family Farm properties located in Pope Valley and Angwin.

This candidate will be extremely flexible and enjoy a “high change” environment where priorities shift from day to day. RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Take directions from Farm Manager and Farm Lead to ensure all farming and landscaping activities are completed in a timely manner.
  • Soil preparation, composting, seed starting, transplanting, weeding, cultivating, watering and seed saving.
  • Assist in spraying and fertilizing following CCOF guidelines and required safe pesticide handling practices.
  • Plant a variety of vegetables, fruits, herbs and landscaping following CCOF organic growing practices.
  • Assist with proper harvesting, handling and storing of high-quality produce grown for the Bruschetteria Food Truck.
  • Maintain all farming related equipment, tools, and supplies, including tractor, ATV, and Mule.
  • Assist with the care of the animals including feeding, watering and moving animals when scheduled.
  • Notify manager of irrigation, pests, diseases or other issues at the farm.
  • Mowing, blowing, mulching, and pruning in a timely manner for ornamental landscape upkeep.
  • Maintain tidy workspaces around the farm, washing station, tool shed, food storage areas and breakroom.
  • Attend all scheduled safety meetings.
  • Assist others with additional projects and work-related errands as needed.
