  • Promote and support highest level of safety, both personally and with others, throughout daily activities.
  • Perform duties related to preventative, routine and emergency maintenance of the controls/automation systems. Verifies and backs up all changes in controls logic for restore if needed. Available for program needs on for 24-hour support as available.
  • Regularly interacts with frontline leaders and production employees to provide direction and solve problems from the electronic up to the extrusion and spinning stand point.
  • Participates in WAVA’s 5S events as a member of the 5S Squad.
  • Evaluation of machine logic and controls to troubleshoot equipment and systems determining how these interacts and impacts on process improvement opportunities.
  • Track improvement through use of Hoshin, Kaizen and other approved methodologies.
  • Participate in long term strategic planning involving the optimum utilization of MAGNERA’s assets
  • Ability to create and modify robotic programs and functions; interacts with leading automation OEM’s in selecting the right parts and programs to optimize the operation of machinery and its processes.
  • Troubleshooting through root cause analysis, providing a logical sequence of executing corrections.
  • Create and revise manufacturing documents, specifications, standard operating procedures (SOPs), safety instructions, validation protocols, risk assessments, and procedures and other technical documents to ensure compliant, efficient, and safe procedures
  • Act as the project technical lead and maintain technical project files for automation projects. Also maintains up to date the mechanical and electronic drawings to resolve or optimize the operation of systems and processes.
  • Data collection from plant automation.
  • Publish engineering reports documenting design details or qualification test results.
  • Research, select, or apply sensors, communication technologies, or control devices for motion control, position sensing, pressure sensing, or electronic communication.
  • Responsible for programming and designing PLC controls for new equipment.
  • Train maintenance and production employees.

          Minimum Requirements:

  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience with Fanuc robot programming.
  • Minimum of 10 years in process automation engineering role or related field

  • Experience programming PLC’s and drives 7from different global brands like SIEMENS, YAZKAWA, MENTORS, Allen Bradley, INTOUCH, etc.
  • Understanding of AC and DC motors; Understanding of servo systems
  • Motors and Drives - Ability to perform electrical troubleshooting and read electrical prints. Ability to wire industrial control systems including 480V/120V/24V power, drives, motors, I/O and sensors
  • Electrical Skills - Ability to perform electrical troubleshooting and read electrical prints. Ability to wire industrial control systems including 480V/120V/24V power, drives, motors, I/O and sensors
  • Robotics - Advanced understanding of robot operations; Understanding of I/O and interfacing, electrical and mechanical troubleshooting experience

                                      Preferred Experince:

  • Six Sigma Green or Black Belt preferred.
  • Solid Experience in Filament spinning for non-wovens and/or Polymer extrusion.
  • Experience with Winding and rewinding equipment.
