Job description

A day in the life

You start your shift walking the line—conveyors humming, automation gear cycling, production running long. You scan for anything that could slow it down, then jump into action. One moment you’re swapping a worn belt drive; the next, you’re diagnosing an industrial equipment hiccup. About a quarter of your day, you’re outside at elevation, tending to conveyors and hoppers feeding the mill. Throughout, you coordinate with a newer production team, performing in-process PMs so uptime stays high and quotas stay on track.

What you’ll work on
  • Multi-craft maintenance across mechanical and basic electrical systems
  • Troubleshooting industrial equipment—experience here is a huge plus
  • Conveyors and automation equipment, including outdoor systems tied to the mill
  • Comfortable around PLCs (Allen‑Bradley), VFDs, and Fanuc robots
  • Mechanical repair and rebuild of gearboxes, motors, and belt drives
  • Approximately 25% of work performed outdoors and at heights due to exterior conveyors and hoppers
  • Executing PMs during runtime to support production quotas while partnering with a newer operations team
Work environment
  • Industrial barn–style setting—well ventilated and kept fairly clean
  • Mostly dusty conditions due to dry food production
  • No oil or liquids on the floor; operation is FDA-regulated with defined cleanliness standards
  • Some tasks occur outdoors at heights on conveyors, motors, and hoppers feeding into the mill
