Position Summary:

The Vegas Thrill is seeking a creative, organized, and highly motivated Social Media Manager to lead the team's day-to-day social media presence and digital storytelling. This is a hands-on position for someone who can develop strategy while also creating the content needed to execute it. The Social Media Manager will capture and edit photos and videos, design graphics, write captions, manage the content calendar, publish posts, engage with fans, and evaluate performance across the team's approved social platforms. The ideal candidate understands sports, entertainment and fan culture and knows how to turn practices, matches, player personalities, community appearances, partnerships and organizational announcements into compelling content. This individual will play an important role in maintaining the momentum surrounding the Vegas Thrill's return and building an engaged fan base that supports ticket sales, partnerships, community programs and the overall growth of the organization.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and execute the Vegas Thrill's social media strategy in coordination with the organization's marketing, communications and executive leadership.
  • Create and maintain a detailed weekly and monthly social media content calendar.
  • Develop platform-specific strategies for Instagram, Facebook, X, TikTok, YouTube and other approved channels.
  • Build campaigns supporting ticket sales, match promotion, player announcements, partnerships, merchandise, community appearances and organizational news.
  • Identify emerging social media trends and determine how the Thrill can participate in ways that are timely, creative and consistent with the team's brand.
  • Develop recurring content series that help fans connect with the team, players, coaches and organization.
  • Maintain a consistent posting schedule during the season and offseason.
  • Capture high-quality photo and video content at practices, home matches, community appearances, promotional shoots, press conferences and other team activities.
  • Produce engaging short-form videos, reels, stories, carousels, behind-the-scenes features and other social-first content.
  • Edit videos for multiple platforms, including the addition of music, captions, graphics, transitions and brand elements.
  • Design professional social media graphics for match days, schedules, scores, player announcements, ticket promotions, community initiatives, partnerships and other organizational needs.
  • Create graphics and templates that follow the Vegas Thrill's established visual identity, colors, typography and brand standards.
  • Resize and adapt creative assets for the requirements of each social platform.
  • Select, edit and prepare photos for social media publication.
  • Turn raw photos and videos into polished, social-ready content under tight deadlines.
  • Assist with promotional shoots, player features and special creative projects.
  • Write clear, engaging and brand-appropriate captions that reflect the voice and personality of the Vegas Thrill.
  • Publish and schedule approved content across all team social media platforms.
  • Ensure that names, statistics, dates, ticket information, partner recognition and other important details are accurate before publication.
  • Coordinate collaboration posts and shared content with players, coaches, Major League Volleyball, sponsors, community partners and other approved organizations.
  • Provide live social media coverage during home matches, team events and major organizational announcements.
  • Maintain a working knowledge of the organization's communication priorities and approval process.
  • Ensure that personnel matters, roster announcements, ticket information, partnerships and other sensitive organizational news receive proper approval before publication.
  • Monitor and respond to comments, direct messages, mentions and tags in a professional and timely manner.
  • Engage with fans, players, partners and community organizations to strengthen the Thrill's online presence.
  • Identify opportunities to encourage conversation, user-generated content and fan participation.
  • Monitor online discussions involving the team and elevate sensitive concerns to the appropriate staff member.
  • Help create a welcoming, energetic and inclusive online community.
  • Support contests, giveaways, polls and other digital fan-engagement initiatives.
  • Track social media performance, audience growth, engagement, video views, reach, website traffic and other key measurements.
  • Prepare weekly and monthly performance reports with clear observations and recommendations.
  • Use analytics to identify successful content, audience preferences and opportunities for improvement.
  • Evaluate campaign performance and adjust content strategy based on results.
  • Work with the marketing and ticketing teams to help connect social media activity with ticket sales, lead generation and other organizational goals.
  • Establish measurable goals for audience development, engagement and content performance.
  • Work closely with players, coaches, front-office staff, Major League Volleyball, sponsors, community partners and outside agencies to identify and execute content opportunities.
  • Coordinate social media activity with the organization's broader marketing, public relations, communications and partnership strategies.
  • Serve as a social media liaison to the team's agency partners when appropriate.
  • Protect and consistently represent the Vegas Thrill's voice, visual identity and organizational values.
  • Organize and maintain the team's photo, video, graphic and digital asset library.
  • Establish naming conventions and shared-folder systems that allow staff to quickly locate approved assets.
  • Maintain appropriate records of account access, platform permissions and publishing procedures.
  • Attend assigned practices, home matches, press conferences, community appearances, promotional events and organizational meetings.
  • Be available to work evenings, weekends and holidays based on the team's match and event schedule.
  • Provide timely content during live events while maintaining accuracy and brand standards.
  • Coordinate responsibilities with photographers, videographers, interns and other game-day content personnel.
  • Initially assume the responsibilities being performed by the team's social media interns.
  • Help train, coordinate and supervise interns, part-time creators or game-day social media support as the department grows.
  • Perform other related duties and special projects as assigned.
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in marketing, communications, journalism, graphic design, sports management or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
  • Demonstrated experience managing social media accounts for a team, brand, organization, agency or entertainment property.
  • Strong graphic-design skills and a portfolio demonstrating social media graphics and digital content.
  • Experience capturing and editing short-form video content.
  • Strong photography and visual-storytelling abilities.
  • Excellent writing, editing and proofreading skills.
  • Working knowledge of Instagram, Facebook, X, TikTok, YouTube and relevant publishing and analytics tools.
  • Proficiency with Adobe Creative Suite, Canva or comparable graphic-design software.
  • Proficiency with Adobe Premiere Pro, CapCut or comparable video-editing software.
  • Ability to create quality content quickly in a live sports or event environment.
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines.
  • Sound judgment when handling confidential, sensitive or time-critical information.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with athletes, coaches, executives, partners and community members.
  • Willingness and ability to work evenings, weekends and holidays as required.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Previous social media experience in professional sports, collegiate athletics, live entertainment or a fast-paced consumer brand.
  • Knowledge of volleyball and the Las Vegas sports and entertainment market.
