Fandom involves engaging with and managing fan communities, often focusing on content creation and community engagement. What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a community manager for a fan-based platform, and why are they important?

To thrive as a Community Manager for a fan-based platform, you need strong communication skills, experience with online communities, and a background in digital marketing or social media management. Familiarity with community management tools (like Discord, Slack, or forum software), analytics platforms, and sometimes certifications in social media or community management are valuable. Exceptional empathy, conflict resolution, and adaptability help you build trust and maintain a positive, engaged community. These skills and qualities are crucial for fostering a safe, active, and enthusiastic environment that supports both users and organizational goals.

What are the typical responsibilities of a community manager at Fandom, and how do they collaborate with other teams?

As a Community Manager at Fandom, your primary responsibilities include engaging with the user community, moderating content, and facilitating discussions to ensure a positive environment. You’ll often work closely with product, marketing, and support teams to relay user feedback, coordinate community events, and implement new features or policies. Collaboration is key, as you serve as a bridge between passionate fans and internal stakeholders, ensuring that community interests align with business goals.

We're currently looking for an experienced Senior Designer to support the creative development of innovative collectible products from concept through production. This is an exciting opportunity for someone with a strong passion for toys, vinyl figures, plush, fandom, gaming, anime, entertainment, and pop culture.
About the Role:
In this role, you'll lead the design and development of collectible products that bring original ideas, character-driven concepts, and fan-first storytelling to life. You'll partner closely with development, sourcing, manufacturing, vendors, and cross-functional teams to create products that are creatively compelling, commercially relevant, and ready for production.
What You'll Be Doing:
• Create innovative collectible products from concept through final production.
• Develop original character concepts, collectible systems, product series, and storytelling experiences.
• Create mood boards, renderings, concept presentations, prototypes, and visual storytelling assets.
• Collaborate with development, sourcing, manufacturing, vendors, and cross-functional partners.

• Partner with factory teams to support engineering, manufacturing feasibility, and product quality.
• Explore opportunities across toys, plush, figures, collectibles, accessories, and emerging product categories.
• Manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment while driving creative innovation.
What We're Looking For:

• Experience designing collectibles, toys, plush, consumer products, accessories, licensed products, or related categories.
• A strong portfolio that demonstrates both 2D concept development and 3D product execution.
• Experience with CAD, 3D modeling, sculpting, rapid prototyping, or related workflows.
• Strong knowledge of color, materials, finishes, manufacturing, and product development.
• Experience creating character-driven products, collectible systems, or premium collector experiences is highly preferred.
• A genuine passion for collectibles, gaming, anime, entertainment, street culture, and fandom communities.
