Job description

Associate Optometrist Opportunity

Pugliese Family Eye Care in Smithfield, Rhode Island, is seeking an Associate Optometrist to join its highly respected, patient-centered practice as it plans for a smooth transition following a provider's retirement at the end of June. Known as one of the most established and well-loved practices in Rhode Island, the practice offers exceptional work-life balance, a collaborative environment led by a growth-minded head OD, and exciting long-term potential, including partnership or buy-in opportunities for the right candidate.

Why join us?

Pugliese Family Eye Care has been a trusted part of the community since 2010, delivering quality eye care for the entire family with a strong reputation built on lasting patient relationships and personalized service. With patients ranging from 6 months to 100+ years old, the practice offers a well-rounded mix of medical and routine vision care, including glaucoma management, myopia management, geriatric and pediatric care, and sports vision. Backed by a loyal patient base and a commitment to clinical excellence, the practice is also focused on growth, with plans to expand to additional locations and continue building its sports vision specialty.

What you'll do:

As the Associate Optometrist, you'll provide full-scope optometric care for a diverse patient base, seeing approximately 20 patients per day in a dynamic and rewarding practice environment. Using advanced technology, including Optomap, Eterna, VR visual field systems, and automated phoropters, you'll conduct comprehensive eye exams, diagnose and manage a range of vision and eye health needs, and deliver personalized care to patients of all ages. With flexible scheduling options ranging from 20 to 40 hours per week, you'll work closely with a supportive team to create a seamless, compassionate experience for every patient.

Who you are:

You're a passionate, patient-focused Optometrist who enjoys caring for a diverse patient base and building lasting relationships with patients and families. You deliver exceptional eye care, thrive in a collaborative environment, communicate well with patients and teammates, and are committed to staying current on the latest advancements in optometry. You're also eager to contribute to a practice that values quality care, community connection, and long-term growth.

Why you'll love Smithfield: Smithfield, Rhode Island, offers the perfect blend of small-town New England charm and everyday convenience. Known for its scenic landscapes, welcoming neighborhoods, and strong sense of community, the area is ideal for those seeking a balanced lifestyle. Residents enjoy access to outdoor recreation through local parks, walking trails, and conservation areas, along with nearby shopping, dining, and entertainment. Home to Bryant University and just a short drive from Providence, Smithfield provides a peaceful setting with easy access to the energy and amenities of a larger city.

You'll enjoy a range of benefits, including:

  • Paid time off
  • Production bonus
  • Continuing education credits
  • Malpractice insurance
  • 401k
  • Partnership opportunity
  • Flexible hours
