Description

 As a Packer Supervisor (PM Shift), you will oversee the performance and activities of packers on the production floor to ensure fresh fruit is packed efficiently, accurately, and in compliance with quality, safety, and company standards. You will support daily production goals by coordinating labor, enforcing procedures, and ensuring packers are properly trained and productive throughout their shifts.


ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

Supervise packers on the production line to ensure proper packing of fresh fruit based on customer and product specifications.

Monitor packer performance to ensure speed, accuracy, and adherence to quality and safety standards.

Assign workers to specific stations and adjust staffing based on production flow.

Train and mentor new and existing packers on job expectations, product handling, and GMPs.

Communicate with Line Leads, Quality Control, and Production Management to address any packing, quality, or personnel issues.

Ensure all packaging materials are being used correctly and consistently.

Maintain cleanliness and organization of workstations during and after shifts.

Document and report labor usage, product waste, and any deviations from standard operating procedures.

Requirements

Education and Experience

High school diploma or GED required.

Minimum 2 years of experience in a food production or packing facility, with at least 1 year in a supervisory or lead role preferred.

Experience in stone fruit or perishable commodities a plus.


Language

  • Bilingual in English and Spanish required

Skills

Strong leadership and communication skills.

Ability to motivate a diverse team in a fast-paced environment.

Attention to detail, with a focus on quality control and food safety.

Basic reading, math, and reporting skills.
