Job description

The Republican National Committee Counsel’s Office is seeking 2nd or 3rd year law students for the Fall of 2026. This office is the RNC’s in-house legal department.


Clerks in the RNC Counsel’s Office will conduct research and writing tasks related to state election law, federal campaign finance law, and potentially other areas such as intellectual property, redistricting and contract law. Projects may include updating election law summaries, tracking redistricting litigation, researching Federal Election Commission opinions and drafting contract provisions.


The Fall 2026 clerkship position will be part-time and in-person at our Washington, DC location. This position requires a minimum of 16 hours per week and includes financial compensation. Interested applicants should submit a cover letter, resume, undergraduate and law school transcripts (unofficial is acceptable) and writing sample (between 5 and 10 pages) on the application portal.
