Job Description
The Biosurgery Platform supports the global expansion and strategic growth of BD's Biosurgery portfolio, which plays a critical role in improving surgical outcomes and patient care. This internship provides a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience in healthcare marketing within a leading global medical technology company.
The intern will work closely with both U.S. and Global Marketing teams to support campaign development, and product launch. This role involves cross-functional collaboration with regulatory, medical affairs, and commercial teams.
In addition to supporting internal communications and dashboard creation, the intern will contribute to the development of customer-facing materials and manage the Veeva approval process.
This internship is ideal for a student who is passionate about healthcare innovation, eager to learn, and ready to contribute to meaningful projects that impact U.S. and global surgical practices. The intern will gain valuable experience in marketing strategy, and cross-functional teamwork in a fast-paced, high-impact environment.
Schedule:
  • Position will be part-time (Max 20hr/week) during Fall/Winter/Spring semester (12Month intern duration commitment
  • Position requires full-time (40 hours/week) during summer semester
  • During regular business hours 8AM-5PM Monday - Friday

Responsibilities:
  • Coordinate marketing content development and approval processes by partnering with cross-functional teams including Marketing, Medical Affairs, Regulatory Affairs, and Legal to facilitate claims review, marketing collateral approvals, and compliance-related documentation.
  • Contribute to product launches and commercialization activities by supporting commercial readiness initiatives, launch planning, training materials, sales enablement tools, and cross-functional project coordination for new product introductions and portfolio expansion opportunities.
  • Conduct market research and competitive intelligence analysis to identify industry trends, competitor activities, market dynamics, and customer insights, translating findings into actionable recommendations for the marketing team
  • Develop business insights and executive presentations by analyzing marketing, sales, and market data and creating reports, dashboards, and presentations that support strategic decision-making and leadership updates.
  • Support portfolio management and branding initiatives, including product messaging development, rebranding projects, and maintenance of marketing assets to ensure consistency across the portfolio.
  • Collaborate with Sales, R&D, Medical Affairs, and Commercial Excellence teams to support ongoing projects, gather customer insights, and help execute initiatives that enhance customer engagement and business performance.
  • Participate in customer-focused and innovation-driven projects, including market research, voice-of-customer initiatives, product evaluations, and special projects designed to improve customer experience and commercial effectiveness.

Minimum Requirements:
  • Individual must be currently enrolled in an Under Grad or Graduate program full time
  • Business or other applicable undergrad or masters level program (e.g. MBA) with an interest or focus in marketing or healthcare
  • Excellent personal communication skills
  • Effectively prioritizes and allocates resources to drive most impactful business outcomes
  • Must have the ability to work on several projects simultaneously
  • Must be able to prioritize responsibilities

Preferred Requirements:
  • Demonstrate ability to effectively work across departments, coordinating with R&D, manufacturing, quality assurance, regulatory affairs, and sales teams to ensure seamless product development and market implementation.
  • Showcase exemplary written and verbal communication skills necessary for creating technical documentation, presenting to stakeholders, and translating complex medical concepts into accessible information.
  • Exhibit self-motivation and ability to work independently while applying both abstract and concrete problem-solving approaches to overcome technical challenges and regulatory hurdles in medical device development.
  • Demonstrate comfort and efficiency working in high-accountability settings with shifting priorities, tight deadlines, and evolving regulatory requirements common in the medical device industry.
  • Possess working knowledge of essential tools like PowerPoint and Excel, coupled with exceptional drive to build a long-term career specifically in the medical device sector.
