What we do

The Shift Manager reports to the Automation General Manager andis part of the Customer Operations organization whichis responsible forleading the day-to-day operations ofSymbotic'srobotic material handling system. The Customer Operations organization drives operational excellence by engaging and partnering with our onsite customers to drive best-in-class quality,safetyand system performance.

Whatyou'lldo

  • Ensure that the safety commitments in compliance with OSHA,Symbotic, and our customers' processes and procedures are met daily.

  • Manage a team of hourly and salaried employees to support thecustomers'hours of operations.

  • As the systemoperatesat various levels, execute standard operating procedures to drive performance enhancements, adjusting to changing business conditions asrequired.

  • Ensures proper staffing of all functions for the established operating pattern,trainingand development of employees, setting goals andobjectives. This includes evaluating performance by preparing performance reviews.

  • Coach the team to respond effectively to issues/problems in the system. Develop standards,

  • processes,proceduresand documentation for dealing with specific problems.

  • Train and enhance the performance of the team members. Regularly assessthe performanceof team members. Train and motivate employees to exceed customer expectations.

  • Communicate regularly with the local customer management team as well as the teams atSymboticheadquarters.

  • Monitor system performance, report on trends ofproblemsand present solutions.

  • Monitor andprovidedefined KPI reporting based on contractual agreements.

  • Conduct accident investigation per company guidelines and use judgment and discretion to make findings and document them.

  • Other duties as assigned.

Whatyou'llneed

  • Associate or bachelor's degree inLogistics, Supply Chain, Manufacturing, or Industrial Automation or equivalent work experience.equivalent work experience.

  • Minimum of3years of experience in managementandoperationsmanufacturingorrelated field.

  • Strong knowledge of automation, warehousing, and business processes.

  • Brings strong leadership skills withabilityto motivate cross-functional or cross-facility groups.

  • Regularlyinteractswith executivesandcustomersto influenceand drive operational excellence.

  • Ability to workindependent of supervisionfollowing maintenance procedures and manuals.

  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite.

Our Environment

  • There will be steep stairs to climb into the structure. You maybe requiredto routinely walk up and down stairs to navigate the automation structure.

  • You will regularly be near railings that are high off the ground.

  • Subject to environmental conditions, protection from weather conditions but not necessarily temperature changes. Must be capable of working in temperatures ranging from 105 to 32 Fahrenheit.

  • AT times you may be at a construction site with PPErequired(hard hat, safety vest, steel toes, eyeglasses, ear protection, fall protection (e.g., safety harness).

  • Frequent ability tosafely and efficiently lift items weighingup to 50lbs and move items weighing up to 80lbs.

  • Stand/walk for up to 10-12 hours and isfrequentlyrequiredto walk and reach with hands and arms.

  • The employeeis routinely required towork at heights of up to 45 feet and within restrictive areas of 24 inches. Where you may need to be able to stand, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.

  • Must be capable of occasional and/or continuous feeling, seeing, hearing, bending, twisting, stooping, pushing, pulling, balancing, gripping, climbing, crawling, sitting, handling objects, and repetitive movement using both hands and feet. Mustcomply withall safety requirements and protocols, including without limitation Lock out tag out safety protocols and fall protection safety protocols.

The base range for this position in the posted location is $71,000.00 - $107,000.00 however, base pay offered may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The compensation package includes medical, dental, vision, disability, 401K, PTO and/or other benefits.
