Description

American Traveler is seeking a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) with trauma experience for a day shift position at a Level 2 trauma center with a certified stroke program and Level 3 NICU.

Details
  • Level 2 trauma center with interventional stroke certification and a Level 3 NICU that also serves as a regional transport resource
  • Primarily adult RRT population, with exposure to pediatric intubated patients and infants through geriatrics
  • Procedures include non-invasive and conventional ventilation, aerosol therapy, bedside pulmonary function testing (spirometry), arterial line placement, arterial and capillary blood gas collection, oxygen management, and patient education
  • EMR and equipment include Epic, Pyxis, SBAR, Viasys Vela, GE Carescape, and Viasys Avea
  • Day shift, 3x12-hour shifts (6:30 AM – 7:00 PM)
  • Every other weekend required
  • Floating within the facility and to a sister campus as needed
  • No on-call requirements
Requirements
  • Minimum 1 year of respiratory therapy experience
  • Trauma experience required
  • Active Georgia RRT license required (license required if applicable)
  • Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, and PALS
  • Pulmonary function testing (spirometry) experience preferred
  • Copies of all required certifications must be provided for consideration
  • Two supervisory references (Manager level or above; charge nurses not accepted) are strongly preferred for consideration
Additional Information
  • First-time travelers are welcome to apply
  • Local candidates are accepted
  • Candidates must have been away from all facilities within this health system for at least one full year before returning as a traveler
  • RTO is capped at 7 days for the assignment; RTO cannot be requested during the first week of the assignment
  • Blackout dates apply to both day and night shifts during portions of June, July, and August — candidates should plan accordingly
  • Holiday coverage is expected: if one or two major holidays fall within the assignment period, the traveler is expected to work all of them with no holiday RTO permitted; if three major holidays fall within the assignment period, the traveler is expected to work two of them and may request one holiday off for review
  • Major holidays include Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving/Black Friday, Christmas Eve/Christmas Day, and New Year's Eve/New Year's Day
  • Scrub color required: Slate Gray
  • No schedule change requests or alternate shift arrangements are permitted — the posted shift is firm
