Job description

Position Summary: The Human Resources Intern will gain hands-on experience supporting a variety of Human Resources functions in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. Working closely with the Human Resources Coordinator, the intern will assist with recruiting, onboarding, HR administration, and special projects while developing practical Human Resources knowledge and professional skills.
This internship is designed to provide meaningful, real-world experience through active participation in day-to-day HR operations. The intern will collaborate with employees across multiple departments and contribute to creating a positive employee experience while gaining exposure to a broad range of Human Resources practices.
This position is intended for the Fall semester and is available for immediate start. Based on business needs, workload, and successful performance, the internship may be extended into the Spring semester and potentially the Summer term.
Internship Details:
  • Fall internship with immediate start
  • Approximately 20–30 hours per week during the academic semester
  • Flexible scheduling around class commitments
  • Full-time availability during academic breaks is strongly preferred
  • Opportunity for extension into the Spring semester and potentially the Summer term based on business needs and successful performance
Compensation:
  • $18.00/hour – Undergraduate student
  • $19.00/hour – Senior undergraduate student
  • $20.00/hour – Graduate/Master's student
Minimum Qualifications:
  • Currently pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field
  • Junior or Senior standing preferred
  • Minimum 3.0 GPA preferred
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Teams)
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise sound judgment when handling sensitive information
  • Desire to learn and develop professionally within Human Resources
Essential Job Functions:
Recruiting
  • Assist with posting open positions
  • Review employment applications and resumes
  • Schedule and conduct phone screens and interviews
  • Communicate with candidates throughout the recruiting process
  • Assist with career fairs, hiring events, and community recruiting initiatives
  • Maintain applicant tracking records and recruiting documentation
Onboarding
  • Prepare onboarding paperwork and new hire materials
  • Assist with new hire orientations and facility tours
  • Assemble welcome packets and orientation materials
  • Support onboarding follow-up activities and training documentation
Human Resources Administration
  • Maintain accurate employee files and HR records
  • Assist with HRIS data entry and record maintenance
  • Support security badge administration and onboarding logistics
  • Prepare reports, spreadsheets, and HR documentation
Projects
  • Support HR process improvement initiatives
  • Participate in special projects as assigned
Other Duties
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
