Job description

Job Summary:
USM Business Systems Inc. is a global System Integrator and IT services provider headquartered in Chantilly, VA, specializing in technology innovation and business-oriented IT environments. They are seeking a Software Engineer with advanced software engineering skills and experience in investment management systems to work on a 6+ month contract in Dublin, CA. The role involves working with Oracle, SQL, PL/SQL, Informatica, and Unix shell scripting, and requires knowledge in data management, integration with market data providers, and familiarity with Agile and Waterfall methodologies.
Responsibilities:
• Advanced software engineering skills, using the following stack: Oracle, SQL, PL/SQL, Informatica power center, Unix shell scripting
• Knowledgeable in Data Management as relates to Data Validations, exceptions & data cleansing.
• Exposure to integrations with Market Data providers & Analytical systems like Bloomberg, FactSet, Barclay's POINT, etc.
• Experience with Business Intelligence reporting tools like SAP Business Objects, computational tools like MATLAB or R is a plus
• A good understanding of application development and production support activities.
• Exposure to Agile (Scrum, DAD, and the like) and CMM Waterfall methodologies
• Ability to adapt quickly and easily to changes within the business
• Strong oral and written communication skills
• Ability to work independently or in a team environment on larger projects.
• Excellent organization, planning and time management skills.
Qualifications:
Required:
• A minimum of 5 to 8 years of Software Engineering experience in an Investment Management Systems / IT environment
• A minimum of 3 years relevant industry experience (active or passive investment management, especially with Investment Performance and Risk domain)
