POSITION SUMMARY The Lot Attendant is responsible for the proper maintenance of the physical lot and building and all vehicle inventory.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Make certain all inventory vehicles are clean and presentable to the public. Inform management of any issues pertaining to the physical nature of any vehicle that might prohibit its sale, including any damage.
  • Responsible for making certain McGee advertising plates and badges are affixed to all inventory vehicles. Make certain all new vehicles have factory stickers displayed and addendum stickers if applicable.
  • Responsible for making certain that all wholesale vehicles are in the designated areas in the additional inventory lot. Confirm that all other vehicles are displayed in the appropriate areas.
  • Responsible for making certain the additional lot is maintained and organized according to sales management specifications.
  • Continuously monitor inventory in the additional lot to market the most desirable vehicles. Confirm that if open spaces are being filled that the most marketable inventory is being used first. Immediately replace the sold vehicles or empty spaces with fresh inventory.
  • Confirm that all used vehicles in inventory are displayed with Limited Warranty information, Buyer’s Guide information, Massachusetts Lemon Law information and a vehicle selling price.
  • Proper monitoring and maintenance of all keys, both new and used.
  • Responsible for the proper check in of all new and used vehicle inventory from any given automobile auction, manufacturer, or any other source.
  • Make certain that all policies and procedures relative to the disposition of these vehicles are being followed.
  • Make certain that the vehicle lot is properly maintained and always organized.
  • Responsible for assisting the sales department during inclement weather, particularly snow. All dealership policies and procedures must be followed including, but not limited to, arriving early.
  • Services relative to interior maintenance and/or “odd jobs” may be required on occasion.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Maintains professional growth and development through self-directed learning activities and involvement in professional organizations.
  • Encourages a high work ethic by demonstrating appropriate and acceptable behavioral skills.
  • Reports to management any situation or condition that would jeopardize the safety, welfare, or integrity of the dealership, its customers, or employees.
  • Always maintains professional appearance and demeanor, including work areas.
  • Complies with all McGee attendance policies.

EDUCATION / SKILLS EXPERIENCE

  • Must have excellent communication skills including the ability to effectively communicate in person, over the phone and in writing as well as strong interpersonal and customer services skills.
  • Ability to meet deadlines, prioritize assignments, juggle multiple tasks simultaneously in a fast-paced environment required.
  • Participates in all training programs as appropriate.
  • Must be detail oriented and well organized.
  • 1+ years’ experience in similar positions

COMPUTER SKILLS:

  • Must be proficient in Microsoft Office Suite including Word, Excel, and Outlook
