Job description


  • Plan, develop, implement, coordinate, and evaluate the total quality assurance function for Escalator Plant.

  • Oversee the development and implementation of the quality system.

  • Manage and direct activities in the Quality Assurance activities.

  • Develop and manage division quality organization including management of ISO certification.

  • Facilitate and participate in quality improvement projects.

  • Plan and implement quality training.

  • Plan quality objectives and measurement systems.

  • Participate in product development teams – assure quality product, process, testing.

  • Perform and document results of factory and job site audits.

  • Provide supplier management with purchasing personnel.

  • Assist in development of Quality module.

  • Develop and maintain customer feedback/satisfaction system.

  • Record measurable statistics which this position impacts (e.g. warranty costs).

  • Manage plant scrap levels.

  • Manage and resolve field warranty claims.


This position will require overseas travel twice a year. Company can assist with passport.

Education: BS/BA Manufacturing Engineering, Management, Bus. Administration or a related field.

Experience:


  • 3-5 years of Quality leadership experience.

  • 3-5 years of supervisory/management experience


Specific Knowledge, Skills & Behaviors:


  • ASQ Certification as Quality Manager or Quality Engineer preferred.

  • ISO 9000 quality system development, implementation, certification experience.

  • Computer skills –Microsoft Suite of Products. SAP R/3 a plus.

  • Ability to work with different functional areas and management levels within the company.

  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.

  • Understanding of mechanical and electrical systems.
