Job description

Description

 In this role as a Project Manager, you will coordinate the effort to bring all elements of the project together and provide oversight and communication channels necessary to meet deadlines for timely installation and start up at the customer site. You will work internally with our Hennig experts in functional areas such as Engineering, Product Management, Procurement, Services and possibly construction, to ensure profitability, performance, on time delivery, and customer satisfaction from the time of the sale to the end of the warranty period. This project management position will entail heavy industrial machinery for the Generator Back-up Power business area. 

Responsible for the full life cycle of projects including project reviews, establishing time frames, determining funding limitations, project staffing requirements, and allocation of available resources to various phases of the project.

Lead project meetings, including but not limited to project engineering kickoff and customer kickoff, and any project coordination meetings.

Pivotal role ensuring continuous communication with the project team, the customer, other key internal Management.

Coordinate with our Purchasing team to ensure pricing, procurement and delivery of equipment, materials, and services.

May oversee or participate in construction management, equipment installation, start-up, and check-out activities as required.

Distribute the customer order as needed to various sub-units within Hennig and ensure PO's or order notifications are issued according to the processes.

Work with participating parties early in the project, establishing contact between the project groups, creating good cooperation, and establishing the formal guidelines and schedules to be followed throughout the project.

Create and manage SO documents and ensure Lines are invoiced in a timely matter.

Perform project and product risk and opportunity management within the project.

Responsibility for project main schedule and coordination of schedules (Hennig units and partners).

Lead activities to maximize the financial result.

Maintain project forecast.

Ensure that the project execution model activities are completed for the project.

Manage testing (load bank rental, fuel, fuel tanks, communication cable, 480V power, safety, etc.).

Ensure customer finished good product is organized, planned and customer protocols are followed.

Requirements

Bachelor's in mechanical engineering desired. Experience of 5 years or more with advancing levels of responsibility may be substituted in lieu of the degree or considered an asset when accompanied by a degree; Experience in the Back-up Power, desired.

3 or more years in a factory manufacturing role

Proven experience in planning, organizing, and implementing large scale projects utilizing tools such as charter, budgets, and timelines.

Knowledge and experience with factory systems, tools, and databases

Understanding of production systems; Lean Manufacturing, Just-in-Time, Kanban, Demand Flow Technology, etc.

Experience in welding and assembly

Experience in business planning and/or strategy development

Experience with multiple manufacturing processes; stamping, machining, weld, paint, or assembly.

Experience in 2 or more functions; manufacturing engineering, product engineering, quality, operations, material flow, etc.

Experience in line design and factory layout

Experience in a union factory environment with understanding of labor standards and incentive pay systems.

Expert knowledge of prominent project management and task management tools (Microsoft Project, Smartsheet. Excel)

Expert project governance and escalation management skills

Ability to quickly summarize key risks and issues and develop mitigation plans.

High emotional intelligence and situational awareness

Excellent verbal and written communication skills to communicate business plans and recommendations to internal teams and external customers.

Excellent active listening skills
