Sierra Motors is looking for the right experienced Heavy Line Technician. GM experience is a plus. However, dealership experience and/or aftermarket shops are an option.

We will train if needed. Pay is from $30 an hour to $40.00 an hour depending on experience level.

Job Description:

  • The Line Service Technician is also responsible for setting goals for personal service improvement, and monitor progress against customer satisfaction index numbers and production numbers as provided by the Service Manager
  • Perform work specified on maintenance and repair orders with efficiency and in accordance with dealership and/or Factory standards
  • Disassemble, diagnose and repair vehicle transmission
  • Cleaning and inspection of all parts
  • Provide labor and time estimates for additional automotive repairs
  • Explain mechanical diagnoses and required repairs in a non-technical manner to service advisors and customers
  • Continuously learn new technical information and techniques in formal training sessions in order to stay abreast with rapidly changing technology
  • Inspect and test new vehicles and recording findings so that necessary repairs can be made

Qualifications:

  • Excellent problem-solving skills
  • Motivated with a customer-focused attitude
  • Experienced in electrical and engine work
  • Looking to work in a flat-rate shop with great earning potential
  • Able to drive with an acceptable driver abstract

Responsibilities

  • Perform work specified on the repair order with efficiency and in accordance with dealership

  • Test-drive vehicles, and test components and systems, using diagnostic tools and special service equipment

  • Diagnosing, maintaining, and repairing vehicle automotive systems including engine, transmission, electrical steering, suspension, brakes, air conditioning, etc.

  • Communicate directly with the Service Advisor so that customers can be informed if any additional service is needed.  Providing an estimate of time needed for additional repairs

  • Executing repairs under warranty to manufacturer specifications


Qualifications

  • 2+ years of Service Technician experience required

  • Certified General Motors Technician

  • ASE Certification required

  • B level qualifications, including Diagnostic, Electrical and Engine Repair

  • Must hold a high school diploma or equivalent

  • Excellent customer service skills

  • Basic Computer skills

  • Positive, friendly attitude, along with a customer service mentality

  • Enjoy working in a fast paced environment

  • Team player

  • Must have a valid driver’s license

  • Ability to learn new technology, repair and service procedures and specifications Able to operate electronic diagnostic equipment
