SUMMARY OF POSITION
The Stores and Shipping Specialist is responsible for performing clerical and physical tasks in connection with storing parts, shipping goods and receiving incoming shipments. May assemble delivered parts into larger components before distribution to the manufacturing area.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Load/Unload tractor trailers using forklift or dolly
2. Attach fans to radiators
3. Deliver parts and materials to factory floor and other designated areas
4. Match delivered materials to bill of lading for proper shipment
5. Crate parts and palletize empty wire spools for shipment
6. Uses air powered nail gun, hammer, power saw and other hand tools to build crate
7. Gather parts to be shipped in accordance with "remove for shipment" document
8. Destroy wooden pallets and other wood material using wood chipper
9. Remove trash from building
10. Distribute parts from parts cage
11. Pick up material from outside vendors
12. Operate "copper chopper"
13. Maintains clean and orderly work area
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
High school diploma or equivalent plus at least two (2) years' experience in a manufacturing environment.
ADDITIONAL SKILLS REQUIRED
Strong work ethic
Excellent attendance and quality of work record
Able to operate overhead and jib cranes
Must be fork truck certified
Working understanding of basic math
Able to read tape measure
