Varstaff is looking for an A&P Mechanic III
Job Description
As an A&P Mechanic III, you will be responsible for the repair, replacement, and maintenance of key aircraft components. You will diagnose mechanical and functional issues, test and replace faulty parts, and ensure all work complies with national and international aviation standards while maintaining a safe and clean hangar environment.
Key Responsibilities
  • Perform necessary mechanical and functional checks, testing, and replacement of defective aircraft parts.
  • Use a variety of diagnostic tools and equipment to determine required repairs.
  • Ensure all maintenance complies with national and international standards of work.
  • Maintain the safety, cleanliness, and order of the hangar or workshop.
  • Demonstrate specialized knowledge in airframe maintenance, powerplant mechanics, or integrated A&P components.
  • Safely inspect, handle, or transport hazardous materials and operate/supervise aviation-related vehicles and heavy equipment.

Minimum Qualifications
  • High school diploma or GED equivalent with typically 5 or more years of relevant experience (or equivalent combination of higher education and experience).
  • Active, current Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) Airframe and Powerplant certification with no prior FAA violations.
  • Advanced skills in repairing, maintaining, and troubleshooting aircraft airframes and engines.
  • Ability to understand and interpret technical schematics, diagrams, blueprints, and manuals.
  • Must have own tools in good working order and reliable transportation to work locations.
  • Ability to speak, read, and write in English, and pass/maintain Class 3 Physical requirements (including hearing test).
  • Physical ability to frequently lift/carry up to 50 lbs, climb, stand, and work in environments with loud noises, outdoor elements, and hazardous fumes.

Preferred Qualifications
  • FAA repair station and/or Quality Assurance experience.
  • Familiarity with Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR/DFARS).
  • Professional background in the Aerospace and Defense Industry, US Department of Defense, or US Military.
  • Willingness to travel regularly and work flexible shifts, including overtime and weekends.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a Security Clearance if required.
