Job description
Job Title: Customs Compliance Coordinator
Department: Customs Compliance
Reports To: Manager of Customs Compliance
SUMMARY:
We are looking to fill this Entry Level position with a motivated and reliable individual; preferably with a background in Aviation or Customer Service and who is a great communicator. Using relevant tools and communication skills, will recognize, coordinate, and resolve daily issues the Kalitta Air fleet may encounter related to customs, immigration, and military base access.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITES:
- Submit EAPIS for International flights to TSA and Customs and Border Protection
- Audit EAPIS submissions for accurate information
- Process jumpseat requests and get jumpseat approval from FAA
- Maintain the TSA master crew list for the entire airline
- Will update various vendors with changes and requests for information.
- Coordinate with U.S. Customs and Border Protection to foresee and respond to any concerns they may have, including published regulations and local operating procedures.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:
This job has no supervisory responsibilities.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability that are preferred for this role; but are not mandatory.
- Aviation background or schooling preferred
- College graduate preferred and/or technical school, or military service desirable; past job experience in a similar field will also be considered.
- Experience in communicating with government and local officials
- Have the ability to maintain and keep current with documentation for record-keeping.
- Ability to learn US Geography is a top priority
- Worldwide ZULU and LOCAL time awareness
- Ability to interact effectively, assertively, and with other departments in the Kalitta Air Operations Center.
- Computer literacy with Microsoft suite.
- Demonstrate the ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide into all units of measure
LANGUAGE SKILLS:
Demonstrate through the interview process the capability to speak, read and write the English language. This will ensure adequate communications with other areas relevant to safety, security, and operational control.
