From our state-of-the-art pre-operative care center to our fully appointed, AAAASF accredited surgical facility, we ensure that every step of the patient journey is filled with care and positivity.
Summary/Objective
Plastic Surgery Center of Hampton Roads is looking to add a responsible and caring part-time RN to our team. Excellent communication skills are a must in our highly collaborative and fast-paced environment. Candidate must be a licensed Registered Nurse in the state of Virginia. Traveling required between Newport News and Williamsburg practices.
Responsibilities
Pre-Op Duties
  • Perform and document patient health status prior to surgery through physical examinations, vitals, current medications, and medical history
  • Verification of informed consent
  • Administering preoperative medications as prescribed

Operating Room Duties
  • Assist with surgery and perform related tasks as directed
  • Maintenance of aseptic technique within a controlled environment
  • Management of surgical equipment and supplies
  • Complete intraoperative documentation

Recovery Room Duties
  • Monitoring physiologic status of patient such as vital signs, bleeding, and fluid balance
  • Completion of postoperative documents

Clinic Duties
  • Assist surgeon with clinic appointment including consults and post operative visits
  • Schedule and process paperwork for patient tests, procedures, labs, and office appointments
  • Assist surgeon with minor procedures including documentation

License and Certifications
  • Current BLS certification
  • Current ACLS certification
  • Current Virginia nursing license (RN)
  • BS or diploma in nursing

Physical Requirements
  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Prolonged periods of standing and working with patients.
  • Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at a time.

Work Schedule:
  • 2 days a week (occasionally 3 if needed for coverage)
  • Schedule is made a few weeks in advance
