Travel Registered Nurse (RN) – Med-Surg / Surgical Acute (Nights)
Location: Hilo, HI 96720
Start Date: June 15, 2026
Duration: 13 Weeks
Shift: Nights – 3x12-hour shifts/week


Position Overview

Seeking an experienced Med-Surg / Surgical Acute Registered Nurse for a 13-week travel contract at a Medical Center in Hilo, Hawaii. This role focuses on adult surgical patients requiring pre- and post-operative care in a fast-paced acute care setting.


Key Responsibilities
  • Provide comprehensive nursing care for post-surgical adult patients
  • Manage pre/postoperative cases including abdominal surgeries, mastectomies, thyroidectomies, chest tubes, and drains
  • Monitor patient status, administer medications, and maintain accurate EMR documentation
  • Utilize equipment such as IV pumps, PCA pumps, and patient monitoring systems
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes
  • Float to other units as needed

Requirements
  • Active Hawaii RN License (or must apply upon offer and obtain before start)
  • Minimum 2 years of Med-Surg / Surgical nursing experience
  • Strong experience in pre/postoperative care
  • Certifications: BLS, ACLS (Required)
  • Experience with EPIC EMR preferred
  • Ability to work weekends and maintain schedule flexibility
