Registered Nurse- Eye Center

FULL TIME


Job Summary:

The Surgery Center Huntsville is looking for a Registered Nurse in our Eye Center unit to care for our patients and facilitate their speedy recovery. The ideal candidate will be a responsible and well-trained professional able to give the best nursing care with little supervision. You will be able to follow health and safety guidelines faithfully and consistently. The goal is to promote patient’s well-being by providing high quality nursing care.

Responsibilities Include but not limited to:

  1. Responsible for the readiness of PreOp/PACU for each patient, including equipment, supplies and medications.
  1. Assumes responsibility for total patient care for assigned patients; assists physicians and other staff members in carrying out the established standards of patient care.
  2. Responsible for interpretation and execution of physicians' orders.
  3. Obtains a verbal report from the OR nurse or anesthesia person regarding the needs or characteristics particular to each patient.
  4. Assesses, manages, and always maintains a patent airway.
  5. Assesses patient's pain level, providing safe and adequate relief measures in accordance with the recommended physician's orders.
  6. Provides post anesthesia instructions, including wound care, what to expect after surgery, and when to call their surgeon regarding complications or problems.

Qualifications:

  1. Registered Nurse (State of AL)
  2. At least 3 years of experience preferred
