About The Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Contracts Advisor with 5-15 years of relevant experience to join our industry leading Global Projects team. This role is responsible for leading complex contracting activities across largescale individual projects or project portfolios, ensuring technical excellence, commercial alignment, and riskinformed decisionmaking.

What You Will Do
  1. Leads the development of project plans for major projects, with particular emphasis on ensuring:
    • Development of innovative and world-scale execution and contracting strategies aligned to the project objectives
    • Objectives of the project are documented and prioritized
    • Appropriate critical thinking and collaboration driving project plan development and challenging concepts
    • Alternative execution strategies are identified and considered
    • Ensures relevant contractor information, market intelligence and lessons learned on previous projects are accounted for, as appropriate to optimize project & contracting plans
    • Key stakeholders are identified, and alignment activities have taken place or are planned
    • Critical issues / opportunities are identified & documented, including mitigation plans and optimum risk distribution between owner and contractors . 
  2. Leads contracting strategy development including work breakdown structure and contracting plans
    • Provides guidance and leadership in contractor screening and qualification
    • Leads bid slate development
    • Leads development of all elements of the invitation to tender and request for proposals during bidding phase.
    • Leads evaluation of proposals and develops contract award recommendations to ensure selection of correct contractor 
  3. Provides guidance to delivery project teams and leverages expertise to support the needs of the business unit(s).
  4. Interface with multiple disciplines and functions as required to provide input and ensure that the deliverables are well integrated, sound, and reflective of the objectives and strategies
  5. Participates in project reviews and situational analysis workshops.  
About You
  • Overall 5-15 years of experience in FEED/EPC/EPCM Projects, ideally with a minimum of 5 years experience in contract/proposal development and/or contract management role
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering or other relevant field
  • In depth knowledge of contracting, commercial, and project execution strategies
  • Strong understanding of risk management, claims mitigation, and contract governance

Required Skills:

  • Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills to address complex business challenges
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to innovate / operate in a highly dynamic project environment
  • Collaboration and attention to detail skills
  • Geographically mobile; willing to travel globally to follow projects when needed

Preferred Qualifications/ Experience:

  • Significant experience in contracts engineering, commercial management, or project contracting for major capital projects
  • Demonstrated expertise in contracting strategy development, contractor qualification, bidding, and contract award
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite and virtual collaboration platforms
