Job description

Tolunay-Wong Engineers is seeking a full time Geotechnical Engineer to join our Megaprojects group in both the Houston or Beaumont offices. The successful candidate will be trained in the execution of geotechnical projects, primarily serving clients the industrial and mega projects market. The Staff Geotechnical Engineer will be involved in various aspects of geotechnical engineering, including fieldwork, laboratory assignments, and engineering analyses. Some of the clients that the group has worked with so far in 2026 are SpaceX, Army Corps of Engineers, Samsung, Cheniere, and Exxon Mobile just to name a few.
The position offers a unique opportunity to work closely with senior management and gain hands-on experience. As a Staff Geotechnical Engineer, you will execute project assignments that require a strong understanding of geotechnical principles and practices. We are seeking candidates with excellent communicate skills with clients, a desire for career advancement, and leadership qualities.
This opportunity is intended for a full-time role that will not offer work authorization sponsorship in the future. Interested candidates must be currently eligible to work in the US AND must not require work authorization sponsorship in the future. TWE will not provide any assistance or sign documentation in support of immigration sponsorship including Curricular Practical Training (CPT) or Optional Practical Training (OPT).
RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Prepare technical proposals.
  • Execute geotechnical engineering project assignments.
  • Work with and provide mentorship of engineering support staff.
  • Manage and coordinate geotechnical field and laboratory assignments.
  • Perform engineering analyses and report preparation.
  • Maintain client expectations for project quality and schedule.

REQUIREMENTS
  • Bachelor Degree in Civil Engineering is required
  • 1+ years of relevant full time geotechnical experience preferred
  • PE License or Active EIT Certification
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
