Job description

TITLE: Extrusion Technician C

POSITION OBJECTIVE: Operate in a safe and efficient manner so as to be productive, while maintaining high quality product with strict deadlines

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Minimum 1 years’ experience in extrusion department
  • P.C. knowledge
  • Mechanical aptitude
  • Oral and written communication skills
  • Demonstrated proficiency at winder operator level
  • Ensure consistent, dependable attendance and demonstrate a willingness to accommodate non-standard work hours as necessary.
  • Capable of effectively managing job-related stress and fostering productive workplace interactions.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Responsible for safety, quality and production of assigned line
  • Maximize throughput in accordance with operating instructions and/or SOC’s
  • Maintain and monitor gauge profile control in accordance with plant objective
  • Ensure correct resin formulations in accordance with SOC’s
  • Fill out material consumption according to docket and enter in the system
  • Initiate timely line adjustments to correct quality issues, in accordance with operating procedures and/or troubleshooting manuals
  • Closely monitor all extrusion functions to ensure that line is running within required operating conditions
  • Take line data to verify settings according to SOC’s for product being run
  • Maintain frequent contact with rear on line operations to ensure compliance with operating procedures and SOC’s
  • Assist adjoining line, as needed, to maximize productivity
  • Properly maintain and care for equipment. Notify Sr. Technician of any maintenance issues requiring immediate attention
  • Housekeeping: ensure that lines are kept clean and orderly, complying with daily housekeeping requirements checklists
  • Overtime as required
  • Any other duties as deemed necessary by the Sr. Extrusion Technician
  • Provide cooperative support for QC lab requirements in testing procedures
  • Support Process Department to meet plant and departmental goals
  • Assist in training of Winder Operators
  • Attends site training classes
  • Comply with Plant safety regulations and good manufacturing practices
  • Must have regular, reliable attendance as well as the ability to work outside the regular schedule as required
  • Able to handle job stress and interact effectively with others in the workplace
