The Opportunity

BetMGM is seeking a Sr. Business Operations Manager to support the Sportsbook Commercial Performance organization. This role will be responsible for identifying and implementing opportunities to improve processes, documentation, operational controls, and ways of working across the department.
The Sr. Business Operations Manager will partner closely with leaders across Trading, Sportsbook, and related teams to drive process improvement initiatives, strengthen operational consistency, support compliance and audit readiness, and help scale the department through improved tools, automation, and documentation. This role serves as a key operational resource within the department, owning efficient execution while maintaining high standards for quality, control, and customer experience.
  • Partner with Sportsbook Commercial Performance leadership to improve day-to-day operating effectiveness across Trading, Promotions, VIP, and related sportsbook functions.
  • Evaluate existing workflows, processes, and ways of working to identify opportunities for simplification, standardization, automation, and increased efficiency.
  • Lead process improvement initiatives from assessment through implementation, including process mapping, stakeholder alignment, documentation, adoption planning, and measurement of outcomes.
  • Develop, maintain, and enhance departmental documentation, standard operating procedures, training materials, controls documentation, and knowledge management resources.
  • Establish and promote consistent ways of working across the organization, ensuring teams follow common processes, standards, and operational best practices.
  • Conduct operational reviews and secondary checks of key processes and controls to allow consistency, quality, and compliance with established procedures.
  • Own compliance, audit, and regulatory readiness efforts by maintaining documentation, coordinating responses, and ensuring appropriate operational controls are in place.
  • Serve as a key stakeholder in the review and maintenance of customer-facing policies, procedures, and operational standards, partnering with Trading, Compliance, and other stakeholders as needed.
  • Identify and implement automation opportunities, AI-enabled solutions, and workflow improvements that reduce manual effort and improve operational efficiency.
  • Drive resolutions of operational challenges across the department and develop practical solutions that improve execution, communication, scalability, and customer experience.
  • Track implementation and adoption of operational improvement initiatives, ensuring changes are documented, communicated, and embedded within existing workflows.Coordinate with internal stakeholders and external service providers to address operational issues, improve processes, and support departmental objectives.
  • Develop a strong understanding of front-to-back sportsbook operational workflows and controls, building processes that effectively support commercial performance, customer experience, and regulatory requirements.
  • Analyze operational performance metrics, team feedback, and process effectiveness to identify opportunities for continuous improvement.
  • Foster a culture of operational excellence, accountability, documentation, and knowledge sharing across the Sportsbook Commercial Performance organization.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Operations, Management, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in business operations, process improvement, operational excellence, consulting, sportsbook operations, or a related field.
  • Demonstrated experience evaluating and improving operational processes within complex, cross-functional business environments.
  • Experience developing SOPs, controls documentation, training materials, process maps, and knowledge management frameworks.
  • Strong understanding of process improvement methodologies and experience implementing operational change initiatives.
  • Experience supporting compliance, audit, regulatory, or risk management initiatives preferred.
  • Proven ability to identify inefficiencies and implement practical solutions that improve scalability, consistency, and organizational effectiveness.
  • Experience implementing automation, workflow optimization, or AI-enabled solutions preferred.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to translate findings into actionable recommendations.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Ability to influence and drive adoption across teams without direct authority.
  • Experience working with third-party vendors, service providers, or operational partners preferred.
  • Experience in sports betting, gaming, financial services, technology, or other fast-paced operational environments preferred.
  • Passion for sports and a strong understanding of the sports betting industry.

Compensation


The pay range for this position is as follows:


131,100.00--174,800.00

Factors which may affect starting pay within this range may include geography/market, skills, education, experience and other qualifications of the successful candidate. This position is also eligible for participation in a performance-based bonus plan.

Gaming Compliance & Licensing Requirements
As an online gaming company, BetMGM is required to comply with state gaming regulations which includes licensing obligations. Applicable employees must be licensed by at least one jurisdictional agency, although certain positions require licensing by multiple agencies. Failure to become licensed or maintain licensure with each agency as required for the role may result in termination of employment. Please note that the licensing process includes comprehensive background checks which may include a review of criminal records, financial history, and personal background verification.
In addition, candidates must comply with and support BetMGM's responsible gambling policies, procedures, and initiatives.
